The portions of the tacos were excellent. I had three different types and all were delicious in their own rights. Mixed cocktails were priced average and were made as well. If you like pork, I would recommend trying any of their pork dishes. The meat is juicy and very well seasoned.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
This rating is based on my second visit. I had the Cochinita Pibil. It was made with BEEF. Brisket. I asked why beef? They told me it was pork. Lol. I make this dish at home. I have been schooled on making it by two great Mexican chefs. Pork doesn't turn dark brown and taste like brisket.
A must come for semi casual dining experience. Need a date night spot? This is the perfect place and a great location to take a stroll after dinner. Would definitely recommend the fried plantains and the chicken tortilla soup. Both were very good and it is always a treat to find a latin American restaurant that makes it.
My husband tried this place on a Saturday night and were very pleased. We made reservations so we were set immediately. Our server's name was Brendon and he did a wonderful job with his recommendations and service. We started with Duckbill tacos for appetizers and they were so good! I got the seafood enchiladas and they were so flavorful! The squash and zucchini had such a great flavorful as well as the black beans. My husband got the El Chicano and loved it! The steak was full of flavor and he really enjoyed it. Then we topped it off with the fried ice cream which was so good. The atmosphere was very casual and laid back. The room got a little loud the more crowded that it got, so if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this may not be the place, but it wasn't too bad. Would recommend to others and look forward to going back and trying some more of the unique dishes that they offer.
Great food! Great drinks! Great service! We came today with 13 senior ladies and they all enjoyed it very much! Our waiter was so organized and quick! We will definitely be back!
Went there over the weekend and was very disappointed. We went in and the host asked how many, then forgot about us while he made his rounds. After the guy saw us again, he took us to a table and asked if we wanted a high chair, and said yes; He sat us and never brought back a high chair for us. I overheard the server say they were short staffed, which was very noticeable. The server was amazing and on top of it the whole night. The food wasn't the best but fair for the price. Not going back. Kid-friendliness: They had a kids menu but didn't have any coloring books or anything to help keep the children busy while the food was being prepared. Parking: The parking was terrible. Had to make two laps around the block to find a spot and had to walk a good ways with the family in tow.
This is the place for Taco Tuesday. Half price tacos and domestic beers. Super nice employees and the oxtail taco is extremely good! They Wil even bring out a small sample if you want to try before you commit. Recommend
My wife and I went to 1492 for the first time the other night. We were so pleased with our service and food. We ordered the queso with chorizo for an appetizer. It had really great flavor. We both ordered the margaritas with sangria swirl, and it is one of the best margs I have ever had. I had the duck enchiladas and she had the seafood enchiladas. We were both very pleased with the quality and the flavor of the food. I can’t wait to go back!
Tried this place on a whim and I'm glad I did. The tacos I had were AMAZING!!! They have creative options that are truly delicious. The 1492 Queso is good even though the cheese is only so so. It has guac, pico, sour cream, seasoned beef and some roasted peppers possibly Anaheims that bring the level up. Try the duck bills and pastor tacos and you won't be disappointed. They also have some interesting drinks.
The fajita steak salad was amazing. The tuna ceviche was almost perfect however a few bites were extremely fishy. My taco salad was good but needed a little something to make it great. Service was prompt and professional but not particularly informative about the food. Really wanted to give a 4 . The food is beautifully presented.
