1st Financial Federal Credit Union started in 1968 when a group of blue collar, hard working men and women banded together to create a better banking option. Today that cooperative banking institution is over 30,000 people strong and still existing for the same reasons. To provide a better option in banking for people in the St. Louis and St. Charles communities.

Never crowded, easy to get someone on the phone to help, very easy to do business with

Went with them because they had the best rates for my auto loan.  They did have good rates and an easy setup.  However the customer service leaves something to be desired.  I spoke to a 'Dan' on the phone who abruptly cut-me off mid-question several times, and was very short and snippy with me when I had questions about setting up my online account.  I was barely able to finish a sentence without getting cut off by this individual.

In the end, he did help me and answer my question- but the quality of service definitely leaves something to be desired.

Imagine a credit union run by unqualified, inexperienced bankers. That's much of what you'll find here.  Particularly at the St. Charles location, I got consistent misinformation.  The worst example was where I deposited $20000+ (insurance settlement) and the bank said they put an indefinite hold (2+ weeks) on the funds at my request.  In other words, they claimed I told them I didn't want to access my money. Is that even plausible?

A couple of employes (Jamie, etc) were helpful. But management at the St. Charles location is awful. The branch manager Renee refused to apologize for the mishaps. She is dreadful at customer service, but somehow retains her job.

Go elsewhere. Just about anywhere else.  You'll end up happier.

I agree with the other review. Avoid these jokers. We went in to deposit a large inheritance and found they had closed our acct! No call no letter to let us know this. Then we decided to work with them anyway and they were disinterested. The worst part is that we were looking to buy a house and two cars through them over the next year. Poor customer service.
