"Welcome to our McLoughlin club in Portland, OR. At our health and fitness center, we believe in changing lives through fitness. Our state-of-the-art facility has just about every feature you could wish for in a gym membership. Our club offers a wide range of group exercise classes, personal training and a wealth of other benefits and features. Whether you plan to lose weight, tone-up, or train for a big event, our club offers a wide variety of gym memberships which you can buy online or in-club.

Where to begin? I used to be a member several years ago and had to cancel when I switched jobs and it was no longer convient for me to go. When I switched jobs again, I decided to sign up again. They no longer offered the price package that I previously had, but promised if I signed up, they would lower my monthly price after my first 3 months. Six months later and despite me repeatedly asking, the price has not been lowered. I feel like I got swindled by a used car salesman. It's a gym, so the amenities are what they are. But as far as customer service goes, if I could give zero stars, I would.

Staff are very nice & helpful, I've had great teachers and trainers, and I love the abundance of equipment. It's all discolored by the insufficient maintenance, unfortunately. On just my last visit, two of the women's room sinks were stopped up and gross, the nearest electrical outlet was marked as dangerous, the first two self-locking lockers I tried (an amenity I really appreciate) weren't working, and my spin cycle dropped my seat down another click on the adjustment bar every 10 minutes. If they could put some more of the budget into upkeep, this place could be great.

This 24 Hour Fitness is in a perfect location for those who have problems going to the gym. It's located right along a major road and if you commute along it, finding an excuse not to go is much harder. My only complaint is that there are very few stationary bikes that are not well maintained. If you want to run, use an elliptical, or stare climber however this is the place to be. I never have any problems finding a machine and even on the busy hours I can find one open. They also have a massive weight section, a lap pool and many extra classes you can take part in. If you are looking for a gym this is a good place to start.

This place would be great if they took better care of their locker rooms and showers, which are usually heaped with towels. I believe they can do it if they try and if they do I'll upgrade my stars.

+1 well kept facility +1 great beautiful location +2 great parking thanks to the basement parking if what staff tell me used to be a hotel. -1 overly pushy sales staff Some of the less tenured staff are very sociable. The more tenured they are they loose their sociability getting to know me as a human instead see me as a dollar sign.
