One of those places that actually lives up to the hype. The food is delicious and decadent. The service is professional and attentive, but easygoing. IMHO this is the best burger in NYC and the French dip might even be better. Prime rib was good, but a bit expensive for what you get. Sides are all A+, best fries ever.Food: 5/5
This is the hardest reservation to get in the city, and for good reason. I seek out the best burgers in the city, and within 2 bites of the 4 Charles burger I knew it was the best I’ve ever had in NYC. The prime rib French dip, truffle mac, mashed potatoes, and lemon meringue pie are all must gets as well. The service was absolutely top notch and the atmosphere was super cozy and nostalgic. One of the very view restaurants that not only meets its immense hype, but shatters all expectations as well.
The food and cocktails are worth the effort of trying to make a reservation at 4 Charles Prime Rib. It’s hard to decide if the burger or the french dip are the best items on the menu. The broccoli turned out to be our favorite side with the bacon being a close second. The patio is unlike any other I’ve eaten in. It is an extension of the restaurant and no expense was spared to ensure diners feel like they are treated to the same experience as those in the restaurant. The service is the best aspect of the restaurant. The servers were knowledgeable on the appropriate amount of food and did not push for the more expensive items. If able to secure a reservation or asked to dine at 4 Charles make sure to not pass up the opportunity!
Everything is magic at 4 Charles - the friendly welcome, the ambience, the timing re meal courses, the food/wine recommendations. I felt like home. Highly recommend it - our female waitress was amazing! Burger is legit for a reason. Mac&cheese are good too. Don’t skip the Chocolate pie w whipped cream and extra vanilla ice cream. What a wonderful dinner! Our server, Daniel was the best. Professional with a great sense of humor. Our meal, though not inexpensive, was amazing. Each dish was served precisely as ordered and beautifully presented. This is a very special place and we will return.Food: 5/5
I will start off by saying, that for me that 4 Charles is better than Monkey bar. Ambiance: Quaint , snug and charming; outdoor seating , is the best I have ever seen. Service: Very good Food: This place is one of the best restaurants I have been to ! We were a happy table of 4 , that kept talking about the food in-between regular conversation , smiling and ending up so content, and full we couldn't wait to be home to digest all the yumminess we ate. Apps: Shrimp scampi's - a must have , it's bold perfection! Perfect amount of sauce that is very rich , buttery and perfect amount of garlic , herbs and lemon with a side of buttered , fresh and crunchy toast to devour all the sauce. Oysters- fresh but nothing special Zou Zou's is my go to! Now the next two items are not apps but with a table of 4 , we made the into our apps. Burger-made me smile! Not only was the presentation there, but each bite was so flavorful and juicy , I mean it is topped with a thick cut bacon maple black pepper and yolk heaven ; hands down the best burgerI have ever had. Fries- perfection , moist, crunch, freshness with my perfect sides of the garlic aioli and ketchup . Prime Rib French Dip sandwich with the side of the French onion dip sauce and the special horse radish secret sauce combo, is perfection ; I would lather on sauce in anything !! It's a must try . Main Course: The sides you have to combine are Truffle Mac and Cheese, Cream of Spinach and loaded bake potato. Waygu steak- well seasoned, perfectly cooked and perfection exterior crunch! you have to order Prime- Chicago cut was very soft and buttery but I preferred the waygu steak. Dessert - Chocolate Cream Pie- I mean Oreo crust, must i say more? with the Sundae Royal!

One of the best steakhouses in NYC. I don’t say it’s the best but it could easily be top 3 in New York. Making reservation is too hard to get, but it is worthy. I love the salmon salad and the ribeye. The waitress was so nice and the atmosphere is amazing.Food: 5/5
