I love it here. Some of the staff is extremely pleasant but all of them are polite. They're stock of items changes quite often so make sure you get what you want right away. The items that are gluten-free, organic, health-conscious are very surprising and pleasant. Many are organic items are name brand items I usually get at Trader Joes. They're not always there, but when they are it's an extremely good buy.

I usually have a good experience when ever I have come into this store but decently I've seen and first hand experienced anything but pleasant. The worker Elizza is so rude and belittling to the customers. Im shocked she still works there as she doesn't have customer service skills what so ever. She has a bad attitude and looks so unhappy. The store is great aside from that experience.

On the night of July 20th, 2017 a 99 Cents Only Store's employee located in Porterville, California REFUSED to bag my mother's and I's groceries claiming or rather stating her duty as a cashier is NOT to bag one's purchased items, which is ironic considering it is their responsibility to meet a customer's needs. However, BRENDA (the cashier's name) had absolutely no problem at all to bag the previous customer's items, it is NO surprise she went out of her way given that the previous customer was Caucasian. According to my observations, BRENDA appeared to be of Mexican background and I do not want to assume she was being bias but from my experience with this particular employee, I am going to believe she was discriminating against my mother and I whom are Mexican. BRENDA even went to the extent to ignore my mother completely behaving as if my mother did not exist when she addressed the issue and began charging the next customer and telling my mother she was going to need to wait until she was done to speak to us, which is absurd since we were not done speaking to her. I then proceeded to demand the manager meet me to speak so she jokingly says, okay and calls him to the front. Throughout the entire time, she was giving my mother excessive attitude. Once I am finally able to speak with the manager and explain to him the situation, he assures my mother and I that he will fix the problem and even apologized on her behalf even though he was not the source of the problem. I have never experienced this before, not in the store nor in any other store. BRENDA was extremely unprofessional and uneducated and did NOT provide my mother and I with the great customer service 99 Cents Only Store's claims. To finish it off, on the website, 99 Cents Only Store's urges those applying and working to "Treat the [our] Customers, suppliers and fellow 99ers with dignity, respect, and friendliness.", and BRENDA clearly did NOT get the memo. I will continue to shop at my local 99 Cents Only Store, because it is a good store with great customer service but evidently, BRENDA was the exception.

I can usually find almost everything I need, from produce to seasonal items, however the biggest downfall is that the lines are always extremley long. They tend to only have one, if your lucky, two cashiers open.
