Fun stuff for everyone. They went above the average park and created a mega park. With swings, music section, sand box, slides, rock climbing stuff, dog park, picnic tables, and other odd things to play with. I would definitely recommend going if you have a kid with a bunch of energy . Playground: Fun for all ages except ninja warriors Restrooms: I noticed an out of order sign. Dog-friendliness: Next to the el royo, but there is also a dog area. Picnic area: Tables and there was an ice cream truck.
What a great park!! We were in town visiting and was taken here by a local friend. Beautiful and all inclusive park for all abilities, well maintained, and we had parking. My only criticism is that due to vandalism the bathrooms were closed. Would've loved to have stayed for hours and let my son really run around.
Kids love it here. Park is fenced in. If you plan on doing a birthday party here, set up early. You may want to to do a call and inquire if you need to schedule birthday parties at this park.
A Park Above is also a great place to have a kids birthday party. The park has plenty of space for kids to run around and play, and there are a variety of picnic tables where you can set up food and drinks. The park also has a pavilion that can be rented for larger parties. One of the things that makes A Park Above a great place for birthday parties is that it has something for everyone. There is a wide variety of playground equipment to keep kids entertained. The park also has plenty of covered picnic tables, so you can have your party even if it rains. Overall, A Park Above is a great place to have a kids birthday party. It is affordable, has plenty of space for kids to play, and offers a variety of amenities to make your party a success.
My son LOVES this place, other than wishing it had a dog park attached or was pet friendly it makes my heart happy to see how excited my son gets when I bring him here
As a Grandma to two wonderful boys 10 & 7, birthday parties can be stressful no matter what you do. Well, my daughter had raved about this park for over a year, and I just could not fathom it being as great as she was saying... Needless to say, I am now eating tasty crow, as this park is AWESOME, and it's FREE! She had my grandson's 10th birthday party there today, and everything was PERFECT: weather, atmosphere, playgrounds, and all of the guests! They invited a bunch of kids and parents even stayed too. For most, it was their 1st time, and they couldn't believe all of the attractions, different areas, equipment for those with disabilities or special needs, a splash-pad, etc. There are many tables, benches, and sitting walls, beautiful grass and sand areas, as well as the CLEANEST PUBLIC BATHROOMS I have ever seen!!!! Yep, an AMAZING PARK! Although it's quite a drive 37 miles RT for us, it's well worth the trip and we WILL be back!
It is the one place that you can take any get whether they're whether they're wheelchair-bound or they have cerebral palsy or they have sensory skill problems or anything like that this park is so versatile in versatile in catering to our children. They even have swims for wheelchair children. It's so amazing. It's in a great part of town not too rowdy. Playground: The playground is huge and has lots of options it's more like a few playgrounds in one location. Restrooms: The restrooms are actual buildings not for the podies which is nice. Dog-friendliness: They have a fin stuff section for walking your dog they just ask That you pick up after your dog. Picnic area: There is a couple of gazebos for party planning or picnicking.
Really cool park to take your kids there are all sorts of toys and swings for the kids to play. The park is fenced away from the parking lot to keep the kids safe. There is a dog run, there are restrooms. But the best part of all, it's a clean safe place for your kids. I highly recommend this park.
The most fun park for kids of all ages and is for all types of people who are wanting to get some play and exercise out. With such a beautiful day we took advantage of the weather and decided to go do something fun for the kids! There was a surprise visit from the ice cream truck and we got ice cream from the family . They have quite some space to have alot of kids to explore and have some fun they offer shade and picnic benches to sit on.
“A Park Above” is the most dynamic park in those that I have seen in the greater Albuquerque metroplex. It is a relatively long, narrow park that is oriented east to west with parking on the south side, which makes it fairly easy to access . . . unless there are so many eager families there, as often happens in warmer weather. If you have children, “A Park Above” offers a lot for them to explore. What I and no doubt many others appreciate is that there are plenty of shade structures to give relief from the heat of the Sun’s summer rays. If you have a dog or two or . . . there is dog park with two divided sections presumably, the eastern half is for smaller dogs and the western is for larger on the far western side of the park complex. It, too, has shade over the sitting area for the dogs’ humans to patiently wait for their dogs to absorb all of the enchanting dog “smells” ick! <;D There is a separate entrance to the dog park from the interior of the park from the circular turn-about driveway, so it is very unlikely that children will leave the park and walk ~30 yards to then open two gates to go in and visit with any dogs. My favorite part is what I am convinced is the nicest bocce court in all of the Albuquerque metroplex. It has an elevated shade structure that easily covers the court and much more. Over the past four or five years, credit must be given to the City of Rio Rancho’s Parks & Recreation Department for hiring quite a number of outstanding park workers over the last four years. They are always professional, courteous, and helpful . . . when they can be found — there is so much for them to keep up on maintaining. The only seriously and persistently negative issues of which I am aware for “A Park Above” is the recurring destructive vandalism that goes on likely after hours at night of its bathrooms, some playground structures, and of the bocce court, including its scoring post. This is a discouraging societal problem that has been going on since I first visited “A Park Above” in the summer of 2019, over four years ago. Initially, there were video surveillance cameras strategically placed around the park, but those appear to no longer be in operation, so identifying and apprehending the perpetrators of criminal vandalism is largely a mostly miss proposition. The City of Rio Rancho’s Parks & Recreation Department and Rio Rancho Police bear responsibility for getting and staying on top of this plague of vandalism. “A Park Above” is a wonderful gift to Rio Rancho and nearby NW Albuquerque. Park users hope that an enduring remedy to vandalism is brought to bear, as soon as possible.
