Must be fake reviews. Very rude manager. Tiny room. AC didn't work. WIFI didn't work. The TV in the next room is louder than yours! AVOID. Stick to a Motel 6.

Very basic room, pretty clean and reasonable for the price ($45/night). All rooms are smoking rooms, which I didn't particularly care for, being that there was some residual smoke odor from the last tenant(s). Cigarette burn marks on the bed liner, sheets and bedspread (which looked around 20 years old) were undesirable, but the room was not repulsive - the carpet didn't stink and the bathroom was clean. If cheap accommodations with bare-boned amenities are what you're looking for, it's not a bad place.

I rarely write a review, but today when I saw someone be unfavorable to the wonderful caring family who owns and runs the A1 Motel in Paradis, La; I had to share my experiences and set the record straight.

I stayed here for many months during my work on hurricane Katrina in '05 and '06.  And while so many others in our group of over 600 adjusters complained of their accommodations, I found this motel to be owned and run by probably the most happily hard working, deeply dignified, and caring family I have known in the past 60 years of my life.

Pete, his wife Sammy, and two daughters are to me the backbone of what gives our country greatness, credibility, and future viability.  

To me, they represent the epitome of what built this country in generations past.  Now that annual income and name recognition have replaced our focus on actual contribution to society, the importance of this family and others like it have never been more important to us.

If on the street outside your room a nationally recognized logo is required, go elsewhere and pay more for a superfluous need.  Should you wish to be treated with honest human respect while being given a very reasonably priced immaculate room, please check in without concern.  Should your business require it, I am confident a few days stay could easily turn into many months of a very satisfying experience, just as mine did in a most unforgettable way.
