I was very disappointed with Rich's work from Abacoore Electric.  Rich had done an electrical hookup in my office years prior and I thought the repeat business would be appreciated.  This time I hired Rich to install some recessed lights and a few other fixture swap outs.  The plan was to do 5 recessed lights now and then 4 more at a later date to be determined.  Originally I thought this was going to be a 1 day job maybe going into a second day.  I took the day 1 (wed) off work and Rich didn't even show up until lunchtime.  It turned into a 3 day project which was mostly unsupervised because I was not able to take additional days off.  Rich showed up at my office Friday afternoon for final payment.  I saw some pictures of completed work so I paid him in full and thought we were finished.  

After a short while, some of the recessed lights were coming loose in the ceiling. I figured Rich would fix them when we scheduled him to come back for the other 4 lights.   After over 4 months, Rich was not able/willing to get me on the schedule.  I ended up bringing in another electrician and asked him to fix the lights Rich had installed that were coming loose. When the new electrician pulled the lights from the ceiling they came down with pieces of Sheetrock because Rich had NOT INSTALLED ANY RECESSED LIGHT HOUSINGS!   He cut off the ousting adapter that came with the recessed light units I had picked out and just hard wired it with a bunch of electrical tape.  This is against code and a fire hazard.  A real hack job!

Long story short, I ended up in small claims where the judge agreed and awarded me some of the money back.  I rarely write reviews but felt really cheated on this job.  And I agree with the previous reviewer in that there services are overpriced.  I wish I had shopped around.

A few years ago, I paid one of their contractors to add two circuits to my garage sub-panel. This was before I knew that Milford requires electrical work to be inspected. I wish I had known. Now that I am more familiar with the National Electric Code, I see that the work performed was very poor. I am replacing it myself, and I will have my own work inspected.

The following is a partial list of Abacoore Electric's mistakes:
*No GFIs, despite the fact that they are required in a garage by code
*Installed incorrect breakers for panel
*No cable connectors at the panel--romex just stuck through the knockouts (and sloppy removal of knockout)
*Insufficient support of cable runs

I'm also pretty sure that I overpaid!!!
