Story

Absolute Pharmacy is a provider of unique and innovative compounding solutions for several categories of physician needs, and, in turn, the patients they serve.
What is Pharmacy Compounding?
Pharmacies that provide compounding serve unique patient needs not provided by one size fits all medication protocols. Medications are custom compounded in the pharmacy to suit the needs of the individual. This may involve an oral medication that is not available in a special strength or combination. It may involve a cream or other topical medication not otherwise available. It could also include specialized injectable products made for a specific therapeutic use. As the needs of the population change, compounding pharmacies are in a unique position to provide individualized solutions.
Our Facility
Absolute Pharmacy is located in a State of the Art facility located in the Tampa, Florida area. From here, we can dispense via carrier compounded medications to fit the needs of patients across the country. We are very aware of the urgent needs of our patients and provide very efficient turnaround time, starting with the receipt of an order to delivery to the home of the patient. Orders are shipped in secure packages that assure delivery of products in the same condition that left the pharmacy. Absolute Pharmacy is very proud of our efficient customer service level.
Our Staff
Our staff consists of highly trained, certified Pharmacists and Technicians who have many years of experience involving compounded medications. In the case of injectable compounding, staff is re- certified every 6 months to validate their abilities. Validation means that the compounding staff demonstrate that they can perform their duties efficiently. Every 6 months, staff performs media fill testing with a non-active broth to simulate compounding. The compounded broth is incubated and then tested for bacterial and fungal growth to prove the competency of the operator. In addition, the gowning and garbing and gloving of the individual is tested every 6 months. Finally, written training is required to be taken and tests passed every year. Compounding is our only business and we are very serious about it.
Quality
Quality is the reason Doctors and patients continue to use the services of Absolute Pharmacy. All of our compounded medications are tested to assure quality. In the case of sterile injectable medications, multiple tests are performed. Samples from each lot of medication produced are sent to a certified laboratory to assure that the medication passes the required tests for sterility. In addition, special tests are performed with use of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to assure that the strength or potency of the compounded products meets state and federal standards.
Oversight
The profession of Pharmacy is among the highest regulated healthcare professions in the country. We are regulated by not only the state Board of Pharmacy for our domicile state (Florida), but we hold and renew permits for every state that we ship products into. Compounding Pharmacies are also required to have a special permit that demonstrates our proficiency to do our job.
