Got the chicken sandwich and the seasonal cappuccino. Both were fantastic! They’re a multi roaster and also use Minor Figures which is rare in Atlanta. The owner clearly cares about the taste of their coffee and produces highly quality home made syrups as well. Whether you’re looking for a high quality cappuccino or a creative latte, this place has it! Their sandwiches are fresh and delicious and made right there. The bacon and eggs in the breakfast sandwich and the chicken in the chicken sandwich were all very high quality. Highly recommend checking out this place - you won’t be disappointed
Really loved this coffee/butcher shop! The place has a lot of customers but still makes some delicious coffee and sandwiches in a timely manner. The baristas are very kind, genuine, and down to earth. I had an egg & cheese sandwich it was the best I've had in a long time! Really recommend stopping by and giving them a try. Thank you to the staff of Academy, especially George, for a great morning coffee & breakfast.
What an awesome place for coffee and breakfast. We stopped in before Porchfest to grab a latte and found that they also have an awesome selection of fresh produce and a butcher! The steaks looked insane. What I wasn’t ready for was the effing BREAKFAST SANDWICH. Holy crap, I got the double and the lady recommended sausage and bacon… I can’t really explain how good this sandwich was. The bread is super fresh, sausage and bacon were top quality, and there was some kind of marinated onions in there with cheese and fluffy egg. Unbelievable!
Had the chance to spend the evening in Virginia Highlands, and this place looked so cute I had to stop in! Employees are friendly and patient, and the prices are on par with Starbucks, though portion sizes are pretty small. Indoor seating is very limited, but outdoor seats are available. Definitely worth checking out! But this probably won't be a repeat visit for me.
This may not be a "sit-and-work/etc" coffee shop - only two very cozy window nooks to sit inside + some limited outdoor seating - but that is truly the only trade-off with Academy. The coffee program rotates beans regularly to different roasters, the specialty drinks are varied and well-rounded, and the folks behind the bar are huge coffee nerds in all the best ways. Highly recommend just standing at the bar talking coffee while you sip, if you're into that kind of thing. Oh yeah, and then you realize you're not only in a coffee shop of incredible quality, BUT ALSO A BUTCHER SHOP?!?!!! That means the banger breakfast menu is being sliced/chopped/cut and prepared fresh right there before your eyes and the eyes of the pig head they just wheeled in. They carry locally sourced and freshly butchered cuts of everything from chicken to cow. Great example of slow food: local-sourced produce and meats and ownership that cares about the community they're contributing to. Simply the best.
Wonderful people and amazing coffee. The space is super cool as well and the butcher in the back looks so good! Can’t wait to come back for lunch. Our latte and cold brew are some of the best we’ve had. Will definitely be back.
One of the best flat whites that I've had in the USA. A brilliant breakfast sandwich too! Lots of seating outside, but it would be hard to just hangout and connect. Excellent coffee!!Food: 5/5
Delicious flat white - probably the best espresso I’ve had in the ATL area. I’ll definitely be back!Food: 5/5
The coffee here was absolutely phenomenal! I got a Cortado with oat milk and a touch of vanilla… Highly recommend this coffee shop to anybody searching for a cuppa Joe in the city of Atlanta. I even had the pleasure of talking to the owner, sweetest soul, even checked in to see how I was doing
Quaint coffee shop with industrial-like interior. There’s street parking available and only outdoor seating. There’s also a butcher/small deli shop inside. Really wish they had indoor seating though. The Banko Gotiti Ethiopia blend had a very floral-heavy flavor profile. I did not taste the honey or brown sugar as suggested but apricot was present. Definitely had a dry aftertaste. Very enjoyable coffee if you’re a fan of floral.
