Tyler store showed item in stock,went to store to pick up,but item was NOT to be found. Three different associates said showed 4 in stock,but “I DON’T WHERE IT IS”???? REALLY? Do you need an inventory controller? Do you care???? NO!!! We can order you one??? NO! Not helpful at all & acted like they didn’t care. Thanks anyway ACADEMY. This is why more people shop online.

Just went into the Acadamy in Tyler. The lines are extremely long. I spend 40 minutes picking out a 100 bucks worth of fishing gear. I go and stand in a massive line. There is no sign or person stating that this is the main line you need to be in. After 15 minutes 5 people behind me decide to go around and go closer to the front checkout lines because they seem shorter. After 5 more minutes I decide to do the same. The moment I step out of this line a manager stops me and informs me that the line I was in is the main line and I have to get back in it. It's now twice as long and I have to go to the end of it....what a joke. I would never have gotten out of it if there had been a sign or anyone noticeable giving directions. Where was this lady during the time I was in the main line...no direction for a crazy busy store. Very poor management. What I wanted I can buy some place else. I'm sure this lady manager is stressed because of the holidays but if you knew how to actually manage a situation you wouldn't have so many problems. I just put my stuff back and left. I'm sure this store has lost a lot of sales due to not being able to keep up with the crowds. Called the Acadamy customer service line and of course after 15 minutes on hold no one ever answered. Very poor service on both ends.

I was in the Tyler store today and the employees couldn't care less about the customers. I walked through the whole store and of about 20 employees I saw, not one even spoke, much less ask if I needed help finding something. After finding what I needed by myself, I did have a pleasant checkout with Janice, I believe her name was. The only pleasant thing about that store !!!

Seriously bad customer service. If you can find it yourself great, good prices and all and lots of inventory, but after 15 minutes of climbing shelves looking through a completely disorganized mess I never found my size. The workers were to concerned with something on their clipboard to offer assistance. When i say workers, they were everywhere, a lot people were busy doing things but after about 5 minutes of searching (crawling on the floor and climbing on the shelves) it became sort of a game to see if anyone would actually offer assistance, they never did. I literally was standing on the second shelf holding on to the top shelf moving the shoes on top around to search the back rows of shoes (they keep them 2 deep and in no order whatsoever) for the style/size I needed. Finally I took out my phone with a young lady standing right beside me, with her trusty clipboard in hand, and I looked up the model number in Amazon and ordered it right then and there. Same price too, not like I was trying to save money waiting on an Amazon shipment. Sad.

The employees were helpful once we were able to locate one. The store did not have much of a selection of winter wear to choose from. Would not recommend shopping there.
