I was in the market for a pistol. None of the three guys behind the counter would not even greet me. The young lady at the front checkout was nice and smiled. Selection and organization is excellent. I am a Benefactor Life member an Life member of DU, which I chaired in Stephenville for ten years. I was a serious customer.

Would not price match. Literally handed them the ad from another sporting store, but the district manager said they can't because it's not on their "competitor list". The store manager had also turned it down prior because it was a "sale" price so I asked for his manager. That's the whole point of price matching is to match prices, which Academy claims to do. They are full of it. I had called ahead twice to make sure they would do it and specifically came to academy ready to purchase a firearm and multiple other items for hundreds of dollars. Turns out they really don't want a sale. I'm fine taking my business to local firearm dealers, hopefully it will eventually put this big box out of business like all other sporting good stores that have come and gone over the last 15 years.

This store was recently built in Weatherford. Most stores that are new give you good service and this one is no exception. Found my metal detector at a fraction of the cost online. Not bad for brick and mortar. Will be shopping there again sometime The staff at the store or more than helpful pointed me right where I needed to go and even knew some of the features that I already knew about the machine. Still, it's good to note that the staff are so knowledgeable, at least the lady that helps me.

Worst Academy I have ever visited. 4 employees in shoe dept, all standing around, one doing nothing but talking with her boyfriend/husband. No offer of assistance and, when asked, seemed inconvenienced. Came for running shoes. Ones I chose were mislabeled...even employee unable to find due to none being organized. Like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Did opt to purchase hat. Check out line had more than 10 people, no other cashiers...again, too many employees sitting on their butts. Stay away from this location. Mismanaged and employees lazy.

Nice and clean unlike Fort Worth locations though it did just open. I've been there twice recently once to visit the shoe department where the girl working there went above and beyond to help us and another to the baseball section where a young man was very helpful!
