Not a good experience with this store today. I purchased a gun safe from the store that weighs about 520 pounds. When I purchased the safe the sales person told me they had one left in the box and I told him I would take it. Well I purchased on the 9th but had to pick it up today due to the fact I live 30 minutes away and needed a trailer. When I picked it up the fellows that loaded it were very helpful but it was no longer in the box I figured they removed the box so it would be easier to load. I returned home with safe and with much aggregation and sweat got it in my house. I opened up the safe when I got it to its location in the house and found it was completely gutted and was damaged on the inside. WOW was not happy. I called the store the manager was not very sympathetic to my problem and I was told well you can bring it back and we can give the money back or exchange it. GREAT that's just what I want to do with my day. So guess what I am headed back. When I returned the store manager was very nice and apologetic about the inconvenience. She also refunded me the sales tax on the safe.

. While shopping for a kayak, third trip to store, I was told how stable this kayak was by salesperson , more so than the other one's I looked at. And it was on sale. It was not - at all - extremely unstable and unsafe! I hate being lied to just to make a sale. Was given to mgr Brittany. She rudely asked, "how did a grass stain get on the bottom?" Duh...... She had a clerk bring over cleaner and towels.....spot disappeared. Then she asked how a scratch got on the bottom. By this time, there were 5 employees flipping and spinning the kayak on the floor. (After being thrown on a metal flat cart and brought in the store.) Rocket science? Was refused the exchange. Contacted corporate customer service. Was promised an immediate responce, either that afternoon or the next day. Four days later I called back. Was treated just as rudely and told they sided with the store, no matter what I was told about the kayak, I bought it and store policy was no refunds - or exchanges. Anyway....will never shop at academy sports again. Customer service and standing behind your product is # 1 in my book. Sadly...Rudeness just seems to be the way it is in stores that lack proper employee training. And making a sale at any cost - to a consumer.

Went in to purchase a bike. No paperwork on the bike. Full price listed on the bike. $129.00. the bike was used and returned to the store with dirty tires and used and put on the steel shelf to be purchased as new. Spoke with team leader and asked if the bike could be purchased for $99.00. with a bad attitude responded the manager will not sell it for less than 20 percent off and walked off. Lady it was only $4 dollars More. What you should have done was offered to locate Me a new one at another location! Or order me one! I came to the store to purchase a new one, not purchase a used one! If I wanted a used one that someone returned I would have looked in the I wanta. Instead you lost a customer that will never return to your store. This Aiken SC store has problems with their Mgt and staff. This issue had Really annoyed me enough to go straight to your corporate office. I'm so tired of retail being so deceiving to the consumer. It is illegal to put Used items back on the shelf and sell it as it was new and deceive the customer . Provide them with no paperwork, warranty, or information that the item was used and returned. I'll send the photos to your corporate office! Let's certainly share on Facebook and Twitter with 5000 followers your way or doing business in the Aiken area. Deceiving.

Super helpful staff. Everyone had smiles on their faces. We're not from this area, so they pointed us in the direction of what we needed with helpful advice. :-)

Very Good !!! Got my $50.00 gift cert for online order , Returned another online purchase , bought a new grill ,and actually had employees to help with every step . One of my better visits . Aiken Store. Thanks.
