After forty-years, I was again with my high school sweetheart. I called Aces to have red rose delivered for our dinner at Shadowbrook. In ordering the flowers, I explained the circumstance behind our newly rekindled love. When we arrived at dinner, the arrangement was on the table and it was perfect. It matched all the emotions and beauty of the evening. The arrangement was low so it did not obstruct our sight-line as we sat across for one another. It was elegant and complementary. My sweetheart openly wept. Thank you Ace's. You will always have my business when I am in the Santa Cruz area. I highly recommend your business to all who wish to capture the beauty and emotions of an event with flowers.

I'm a floral designer in central Canada, so I'm always curious when I send flowers elsewhere, how it will turn out. Ace's Flowers knocked it out of the park with my order - WOW - they used a wide array of gorgeous, quality, seasonal flowers and fillers that made the most beautiful arrangement (lilacs, ranunculus, roses, lilies, etc). My relatives received it as a sympathy piece after a great loss, and they were completely blown away with the beauty of this bouquet. It brought them tremendous joy to have something so lively and lush in their home during this difficult time. Thank you so much Ace's Flowers for taking such great care of our special order.

Ace's creates the most amazing arrangements, from the traditional to unusual textures and surprising botanicals. Ace has a width breadth of knowledge in the flower industry and is a pleasure to work with in creating something special for any occasion. She has created various pieces for me from large standing podium sprays to dinning room centerpieces to beautiful bouquets. They always wind-up being a topic of conversation, as the flower work by Ace's is extraordinary. If you don't know what you want, she is always helpful and insightful in creating something marvelous from scratch. Definitely two thumbs up!

The owner was very kind to me. I went in to see if I could order flowers for my brother-in-law's memorial service in Laguna Niguel, and she patiently described to me how to do it using Yelp. There was nothing in it for her, but she took the time to help me.

It makes me sad to say that this business was so rude to my elderly mother on the phone this morning, the woman made her CRY! She was lucky it didn't happen in front of me, because this review would not be the last point of follow up I would have appropriately responded with. I am a bride who grew up in this area but relocated out of state after graduating from our beloved UCSC. After 12 years of dating, my fiance and I naturally wanted to come back in order to celebrate our wedding in the one place that will always be home :) With a tight budget, we planned on using silk flowers for everything except the bridal bouquet. I just flew in on Wednesday, only to arrive to the news that our florist is going into surgery and will not be able to make my cascading bridal bouquet. Totally understandable, but OH NO! My mother and I immediately get on our phones to see if any florist in the area would be able to accommodate such a last minute request. I would like to report that every florist we have called, up until Ace's Flowers, was unable to fit us into their schedule; but they were polite, courteous, upfront with their situation and made at least some effort to direct us to another source. That brings me to this morning's phone call to Ace's Flowers. The conversation unfolded as follows: My mom: "Hello! I'm calling to see if you would be able to make a last minute cascading bridal bouquet for my daughter's wedding at the end of the month." Ace's: (annoyed) "We are soooooooooooooooooo very busy, I don't think we have time. But what date do you need it?" Mom: "Oh, I am sorry; I realize it is asking a lot, but our florist had a medical emergency - poor lady. But, my daughter is getting married on May 31st - 2 weeks from today." Ace's: (short and abrasive) "Well, I am just going to have to call you back, because I don't even think we can do this with so little time. We are soooooooooooo busy....(talks to other people in the background)....(sigh)....so......who did you say you were again? I am going to need to call you back." Mom: I'm _____ _____, and that would be great if you could call me back. If you have a pen and a paper, my number is 831........(interpreted by Ace's)" Ace's: (talks into phone, but to someone else in the store) Mom: You know, if it would be more convenient, I could stop in and drop off the plans and pictures of what we are looking for...(interrupted by YELLING Ace's employee) Ace's: "OH NO YOU CAN NOOOOOOOOOT!!!!! DO NOT COME OVER HERE!!! We can not handle anymore distractions in the store!!!!!! (snorts in disdain) I'll call you back." Mom: "Oh.....okay, well thank you......" Ace's: "CLICK!" Highly rated product aside, I have never heard a business yell at a potential customer so loudly on the phone that I could hear it from 10 feet away!!!! In addition, she hung up on my Mom while she was still talking. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER use Ace's Flowers --- or recommend ANYONE, friend or stranger, to patronize services from such a condescending and undeserving business. Shame on you.
