Joseph McCaleb as the Licensed Physical Therapist and his two aids, Scott and Alex, were a fun team. Joe was very knowledgeable about this profession. He and his aids kept the atmosphere fun and upbeat while distributing effective exercises and treatments that were effective in a positive healing experience. The negative part of our experience was so severe that, unfortunately we will not ever be able to refer anyone to this particular office. From the beginning of our relationship the front desk was problematic. On the first visit the scheduler called our insurance company while I was present. She confirmed the coverage with the insurance company had been approved. After hanging up with them she told me that there would be no co-pay or any cost for up to 20 visits. She explained to me was that I was initially approved for six visits. After this she would have to resubmit for the next six. This would repeat until all twenty visits had been made. All went smoothly for the first six visits and I was on my way to healing after my surgery. It took a couple of days for the scheduler to get approval for the next set of six visits so there was a slight break between appointments, but nothing too alarming. The next set of visits went smoothly until after the forth visit. On the day of the next visit a new scheduler called me and told me that there was a problem with insurance and I was not to come in until she was able to obtain approval for future appointments. Weeks passed. Each week either my wife or I called the office to see what was going on. We were told that the letter for requesting approval for the next set of visits had been faxed to the insurance company. During each phone call we asked how many visits they showed my having completed. I was fairly sure I had two more visits left in the second set of six. In other words, I had been to physical therapy ten times. The scheduler would not give us a clear answer. The second scheduler was fired, and a new woman was hired. At one point the physical therapist aid, Alex answered the phone and assured me that Scott (the other aide) faxed the authorization request to the insurance company himself and didn’t understand why they weren’t responding. It was Thursday of week four that we went by the office. They were closed. We went to the office the next day. They were closed. We knocked on the office door and Alex answered. He was very kind to let us in to try to resolve the issue in person and possibly get some answers. Joe was in his back office and did not come out to interact with us. Alex took the time to verify the number of visits I had used. There was a discrepancy he caught by comparing the front desk schedule with his files and confirmed the front desk had an extra visit on their schedule. Even if that had proven to be correct I still had one more visit before the authorization needed to be sent. The odd thing was that, after looking through every page of my file, Alex could not find the authorization form that both the receptionist/ scheduler and Scott claimed was faxed over to the insurance company numerous times. His conclusion was that it had never been sent. We were very confused, but still valued Joe’s expertise and decided to give the office one more chance. We scheduled the remaining two appointments for me on this second set of six appointments. The day of the next appointment I was caught on the military base at a job walk and had my wife call and cancel the appointment. Later that evening the scheduler called my wife, at Joe’s request. Joe’s message to me was that he was canceling all future appointments until I went back to see my surgeon. The scheduler couldn’t tell us why and had no other information. This left us very confuse again. I never went back. Two years passed and out of the blue I received a large bill from them. Apparently, they processed the visits through my health insurance but took two years to bill me. I have never dealt with so much incompetency. Very unprofessional; too much drama and confusion to ever trust this office again.

Not sure about this last guy as I found Kari to be amazing! She has since moved on but the other two therapists I have seen there were great as well. My hour includes exercises with assistants and direct therapy with the PT. I can't imagine needing the PT to hold my hand for the whole hour. I sometimes paid before, sometimes after, but usually was told just to pay for both weekly visits on the 2nd appt. I'm happier here than with other places I have been.
