I have some antique books that I am trying to ascertain the value of. Scott was super friendly on the phone and told me to come in even though I would be arriving only 5 minutes before close. He took ample time to research the books I brought in and gave me his honest feedback, even referring me to an auction house as my best option for selling some. I trusted his opinion and his motivations. He provided exceptional customer service and demonstrated his expertise.

The best traditional bookstore in San Diego in terms of scope and quality of books on a vast variety of subjects. If you enjoy browsing through the stacks, this is the place! Great selections on history, religion, technology, art, and just about everything else. Many excellent out of print and hard to find books. Bart the Cat reigns.

Very cute bookstore! Lots of nooks and places to sit, hidden corners of books, and plenty of seats to read. Staff was very helpful, particularly the cute cat that asked me for pets on the stairs. Great prices. Will definitely go back!

My favorite book store in San Diego! It's huge and the selection is amazing and well organized. The owner is very sweet and likes to talk about certain books you've picked out. He asks that you keep back packs or large bags up at the desk, which I completely understand, as stealing from a small business hurts sales more than we know. There are also cats here, so be careful if you have an allergy.

One of the best and largest used book stores in greater San Diego. Broad selection of subjects covered. Knowledgeable staff. Could definitely benefit from a map accessible to customers, both upstairs and down.
