The Adelia M. Russell Library opened its doors on June 2, 1965. Since that time, the library has been a well respected and valuable resource for Alexander City and the surrounding area. Conveniently located in downtown Alexander City, the comfortable and spacious three-story Adelia M. Russell Library provides audio books, E-books, and DVD's as well as access to magazines, newspapers, and genealogical resources, all in a quiet, spacious and comfortable atmosphere. With a long tradition of serving the Alexander City area, the well-trained and courteous library staff is eager to assist patrons in keeping up with current events, finding suitable entertainment and helping patrons with their ongoing pursuit of knowledge. Our separate children's library, Mamie's Place provides the same for our young patrons.
