Shirley Linn has been my travel agent over 13 years and all the recommendations and service we have received has been top notch. She has helped many of our friends with their travel plans. Very Highly Recommended.

Don't use this agency for international travel. When scheduling my flights, the agent failed to be certain that my Frequent Flyer number was entered into the schedule. I gave it to her but I was not given mileage credit. The agency now has the gall to tell me to handle it on my own -- that they don't know what to do since it's an international flight with AA and Iberia. I called AA and was told to call Iberia. I did and was told to call Iberia in Spain, which I am not going to do! Also their agents are frequently on vacation. The one I worked with was out every other week and then retired.

I experienced incompetence at not one, not two, but THREE of their branches, all for different reasons. I live in central Missouri, so I went to their Columbia office to speak to someone about planning a trip to Europe with my sister. I spoke to someone who couldn’t seem less interested in helping me. She told me that they were busy at the moment, but she would take my information and would call me in a week or two. She told me e-mail was the best way to contact her. Three weeks later, I still hadn’t heard back, so I sent two e-mails and called and left her a voicemail – and she didn’t call or message back. I spoke to my sister, who lives in Springfield, about how rude it was of this woman to ignore me – if she wasn’t going to help me plan my trip, she should have said so. My sister went to the Great Southern in Springfield to speak to someone about her, and to see about planning a trip, assuming a different branch would have better service. The woman who helped us there was genuinely sorry for our Columbia experience, and promised to help us with her full attention. I have no qualms about this branch in Springfield – except for three things. She didn’t seem to write anything down. I spoke to her about an issue with my paperwork, and she called the next day to say, “There seems to be an issue with your paperwork.” She didn’t remember speaking to me about it 24 hours before that. The other issue involved one of the other agents at the Springfield office. My agent was out of town, and I called to ask a question – and this other agent was EXTREMELY rude to me, basically yelling at me on the phone out of frustration for not being able to find my file. The third issue was when I went to pick up my paperwork for my trip. My agent was out with family issues, as was her partner agent (whom she’d promised would help me) so the woman who went over my paperwork had absolutely no clue as to the details of my trip. Although I appreciated her help going over the paperwork, she really didn’t know what she was talking about. A big part of the Contiki trips is a ferry from England to France, then back, and she told me I was crazy to think I’d be taking a ferry. She also gave me very wrong information about currency (shouldn’t an agent know what currency is used in Ireland?) but like I said, she couldn’t have been expected to know everything about my trip, as she wasn’t involved in it. After I had everything booked and paid for, I get a voicemail on my phone from the woman in the Columbia office, asking if I am still interested in booking with her. Two months had passed! Of course I wasn’t interested! So then, I needed currency. I was told, since I was departing from St. Louis, I could get that from their Creve Couer office. I called and told them what I needed, and was told it would take several days. I went to pick it up, and the man who was helping me doesn’t normally deal with currency exchanges, but helped us anyway. He told me I could buy a price protection for $10 that would keep me from losing money on currency when I exchanged it back – and told me I had 30 days to do so from coming home. After getting home, I called the Creve Couer office to ask when I could come exchange that money back. I was told, also not by their normal currency person, that I had 14 days. I was told their normal currency person would call me back. She did the next day, and told me I had 10 days to bring back my currency. At this point, I got upset, telling her I was told 30 and then 14 days – which was actually correct? She got VERY snippy with me, saying she dealt with money, and that it was her word that was law, basically. So I had two days to return the money. I did, within the (new) 10-day time frame – only to be told that the price protection I’d purchased on the advice of the first agent at Creve Couer was only good for my Euros, not my Pounds – so I lost money anyway. Never have I received such misinformation, rudeness, and incompetence from a company.
