Story

We started Advanced Auto and Truck Repair in Palatine in 1993.
From a single lift shop nearly 20 years ago our reputation for honest, quality work has helped grow our business into a 7,000 square foot space with 8 lifts, state-of-the-art diagnostics and alignment machines and 8 mechanics and technicians.

One way of providing customer value is getting the job done right the first time. We have put together a team that will ensure that it's done right the first time around, every day. We are not a fly-by-night shop. With tenures ranging from 2 to 15 years, Advanced Auto and Truck has a knowledge base to be envied.

Advanced Auto Repair has been an auto repair center and tire dealer. Since the beginning, our business has been focused on building strong customer relationships and providing the highest quality of workmanship on each and every automotive repair.

Owners Jim Stepp and Rodney Knesper had worked together at another shop where they became great friends and decided to strike out on their own. They started a small shop in 1993 where they were the techs and owners at the same time. They hired our first employee after one year and added another the next. Within five years, we grew to four techs and two service writers.

After outgrowing our original facility in 2000, we bought a larger one and moved down the street. Today, we have eight techs and three service writers, our own tow truck, three loaner cars, and more than 10,000 customers in our database.
