Story

Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy Associates (OSPTA) first opened its doors at New England Medical Center in 1982. Due to its relationships with Greater Boston Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeons and Physicians, the clinic quickly became a leader in Sports Physical Therapy before there was Sports Physical Therapy. In 1995, the clinic expanded to include a location in Medford, leasing space from Tufts University's Department of Sports Medicine to provide rehabilitative services for the Tufts University and surrounding communities. After sustained and progressive growth, OSPTA looked to expand its outreach to provide sports physcial therapy services in the Metro West area in 2005, opening Advanced Sports Therapy (AST). Under the same ownership as OSPTA, AST as a satellite clinic of OSPTA was renamed due to similarly named private, physical therapy clinics already established in the Metro West community. Both OSPTA and AST continue to thrive north and west of Boston as well as downtown Boston as privately-owned, sports physical therapy clinics specializing in the evaluation and treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries and conditions and pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation.
