This is our favorite sushi restaurant in the area, we've been eating here regularly for nearly 3 years, and they never fail to impress. The waitstaff is very kind and the food is excellent. The presentation of their sushi is top-notch, so beautiful you almost don't want to eat it . Just got home from my birthday dinner there, and it was a feast!! They surprised me with both an appetizer and dessert on the house! Lovely dining experience every time we go, highly recommend.
Not a fan of the meal we just ordered. The pad thai was a sorry excuse- bland, with no aromatics incorporated and zero authentic flavor profile- very vanilla. Look at the noodles- they are wrong for this. The dynamite roll was an utter soggy mess with poorly proportioned rice to filling ratio. The submarine roll was a bland hot mess. Total waste of a meal. The only thing we enjoyed was the seaweed salad. I'm from Southeast Asia and this is my home cuisine- I cannot support this kind of "passing" for our food. Just don't bother. Save yourself the trouble and go to Pinto Thai down the street- they are authentic and the food is prepared correctly if you want decent Thai food. I can't add the photos which I took to show to anyone ordering how wrong this looks- sorry, will try to add in a bit.
So they normally do a good job but today's order was very disappointing. If you can see my pictures, for the Tony Roll and the Crazy Crunch Roll, the fish is a paste!! Fish paste! Crazy Crunch was supposed to be tuna, salmon, and yellowtail- nope, a paste of who knows what. Same for the Tony Roll. I've ordered these rolls before so I'm familiar with what I'm supposed to get. Spent over $60 for mystery fish. We had it delivered otherwise I don't believe they would have served us this for dine in. So underhanded. I realize there are supply issues going on but you can't cheat or mislead your customers. Fries were hot and tasty though. Delivery was fast and food was hot. Will try again but only once more.
Awesome service. Was 40 minutes late for a pick up order and the food was still unquestionably good. Thank you to my new favorite. Egg drop soup is not too thick or runny it’s perfect. Sushi was as well.
I have to say this is a small hidden Gem... This is the perfect example of the saying "don't judge the book by its cover...." Ak1 is a family owned Restaurant, the staff is very respectful & kind. We started with a light soup full of flavor, scallions and slices of fresh mushrooms.. The Tempura Shrimp Veggies and Chicken was truly divine.. it was light and crisp... The Honey chicken and fried rice was so delicious! We also had the Shrimp Pad Thai And Chicken Pad Thai The sauce was perfect! The different types of Sushi Rolls was absolutely delicious!! We had a wonderful Night!!
Awesome spot!! Their lunch specials are amazing. We got two rolls of sushi for $11.99 and they tasted awesome. Their lunch special section is pretty big and they're only $7.55. Customer service was great. And they were really quick! Food was ready in no time. Really enjoyed the food. We really liked the fried rice.Food: 5/5
I barely write reviews for places but this place is great! We should support local restaurants like this more. The food is very good but not as expensive as other sushi restaurants.
So, ordered from here…I’ll eat pretty much anything. Once the food came, we said “screw the $80 we just spent, let’s get something edible”, so we ordered her some pad Thai from a different place that actually knows what “pad Thai” is and I threw a frozen pizza in the oven. Everything other than the egg rolls literally went in the garbage can. These are the things we ordered that we couldn’t even eat: Pad Thai Sweet and sour chicken chicken good, sauce was basically the consistency of what you would get from canned cranberry sauce House special lo mein…again, I’ll pretty much eat anything…but not this. Dynamite roll!….no, just no. It was bogo and even with that, I just couldn’t. Mind you, I’ve eaten sushi from gas stations, and I have found it “ok”. I would have returned this to a gas station.
Ordered dishes to share for 5, great meal for a reasonable price. They had some veggie rolls too. Especially liked the tofu teriyaki. Vegetarian options: Quite a few veggie rolls
Sushi roll that I had was fresh, but the general tso chicken was the most bland I think I have ever had and looks the same. I figured I’d give this place a try after not going here for years. Sad to say that my expectations were not met again and I will not be going back. Friendly people though.
