Pizza is incredible. Thin crust, but not flimsy, the crust is tasty without any sauce, and the Meat pizza which is what I got is easily one of the top 10 meat pizzas I’ve had in America. Don’t pass this gem if you’re on the A1A and in the mood for pizza.
Every visit to Al’s is always the best. My family and I have been going to the PV location ever since I was young! I may be a little bias but Caroline is just the best server!!!!!!
Everything we had was delicious. Stopped on our way back from st Augustine to Jacksonville. We had chicken parm, stuffed shells and a calzone and all of it was fantastic! Service was amazing as well!
Haven't had Al's in a few years due to location. Still delicious pizza! Glad I went backFood: 5/5
First, this AL'S emailed me to RSVP for today's Ancient beer tasting event. I did RSVP'd and this isn't my closest one. I even called before going and asked if event was still on. Yes. They seated us behind the bar, we ordered and were asked about drinks. I said you are having beer tasting later no? Yes. So why we waited for pizza, everyone but us are sampling beers, walking right by us numerous times including I guess the owner or manager. To make matters worse the pizza arrives burnt, either oven too high, pizza too thin and/or cooked too long. Near the crust I couldn't even cut it with a knife! The waitress disappeared for the longest and never asked how it was, I even put the burnt, uneatable pieces upside down on pie plate! The event seemed like an inside family and friends affair only as they were greeted by name. Advice, become an insider or don't go here. See attached photo of burnt crust and thinnest of pizza center.
Pizza was really good. Ordered a $12 Caesar salad to share and this is what I got.
Our pizza was cooked to our liking and was absolutely delicious! Our waiter, Gavin was excellent. Will make Al’s our go to place for great food at reasonable prices!!!
I have to admit that I have a tendency to not go to Al's because I live closer to multiple Pizza places in south PV or Nocatee. Location simply means a lot. But yesterday we got a veggie pizza and a calzone because we were driving back home from the Beaches. I simply had forgotten what a terrific Calzone Al's makes. It has the perfect combination of ricotta and mozzarella cheese. I added mushrooms and pepperoni and the darn thing was wonderful. So terrific that I felt I needed to drop in a note to remind others. There are lots of choices in our area but simply do not forget Als. They make very good Pizzas and Calzones.
updated: We got pizzas for the beach this week, 8/15/22. Service was fine, pizzas were as usual, OK. Upon pickup, the phone was ringing off the hook, but I guess we got our order in early enough. Lesson is call early. We get pizza here occasionally because it's close in Ponte Vedra, not necessarily the best which it certainly is not, but at least it is usually predictable. They are always under cooked but if asked will cook them fully. This time, after calling multiple times no one ever picked up, nothing but silence for five, then again ten minutes. Ordered on line instead which used to be great. This time it wouldn't accept their coupons and then dinged the cc immediately and messaged it would be an hour before pick up. Very disappointed to wait an hour for a rather average under cooked pizza at best and then have to hassle at the counter to use a coupon. The pizza is not worth an hour wait or hassle.
I’ve been going here for many years and the pizza used to be so much better. I still recommend trying this pizza place out considering the longevity.
