We stopped here on our way to Florida after reading some great reviews. Food is undoubtedly great. Juicy sandwiches however there’s one thing that really bothers me about some restaurants and that is poor customer service. If you are going to be rude to a customer and have a sour attitude for whatever reason then please don’t run a business. The people working there looked miserable and look like they desperately need a break; it shows through how they treat people who walks through that door. Just FYI I also got my entire order wrong. Before I could explain to her what I wanted the lady abruptly cut me off and told me she knows what I ordered - clearly she didn’t. I just paid and left. Obviously never coming back
I had the falafel pita, baklava, and dawali. I think the pita was grilled with oil before being served, and it was both crispy and savory. The falafel inside was tender and flavorful. Overall, I feel that Al Salaam's owners put in that extra bit of attention to their food to make it special.Food: 5/5
I’ve been eating here for a decade and it’s never been the same experience. Sometimes it’s incredible and other times, it’s inedible. Even though the menu says that the gyros come with lettuce, onions, and tomatoes, I have NEVER had a gyro from here with tomatoes or onions on it. The new fries are terrible. Just undercooked, thin shoestrings that are soaked in grease. Like I said, if you’re looking for a good meal, you may find it here. Just don’t get your hopes up and you’ll like it. The most important part of running a business, especially a food business, is consistency. Work on that if you want repeat customers. Also, stop cutting corners. It seems like everything has been getting cheaper and cheaper over the years.
My husband just came and brought us gyro wrap lamb and chicken gyro it’s our first time I must say it’s was so good I didn’t go in with my husband but he said they were very friendly fast and the food was the bomb no photos but my stomach is full and it was Delicious
Wonderful, small, friendly. Great local family making absolutely the best lamb gyros in town. The hummus is great, the falafel is devine. Get cozy because the shop is small with limited seating, but you won't regret eating here. And look on the walls. Covered in old National Geographic magazines. A better display than the library. And if you're looking for that hard to find Mediterranean or Arabic spice or ingredient, he probably has it or can get it. Vegetarian options: Falafel, hummus, baba ganough, salads.
WE ORDER HERE FOR LUNCH FREQUENTLY. GREAT GYROS. FRESH AND AUTHENTIC. LADY WORKING THE COUNTER IS ALWAYS A DREAM. WE AT CHATHAM TOYOTA APPRECIATE THEIR DELICOUS FOOD. I RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE I KNOW FOR THE BEST GYROS.
We've ordered chicken gyros before here and were given lamb instead. That was almost a year ago, so we decided to try again tonight. They gave us lamb instead of chicken again after lying to us and saying that it was chicken.
Kind of a hole in the wall and it could be a little neater inside, but the best gyro I've had in the U.S. by far.
Absolutely the best. Tasty kebabs and other items. Family ran. Small place but cute a my d cozy. You feel like you are in the Middle East. Pride in the place is evident. I am going to cater a move release this Tuesday and this place has my business.
I went based on google recommendations. I was not treated warmly, unlike the regulars. I have attached photos of the difference between real lamb gyros with everything versus Al Salaam Deli. The tzatziki sauce looked and tasted more like honey mustard sauce and not sour cream based. No tomato, no onions, just warm and dead lettuce. Newcomers stay away, regular customers, you can keep this for yourselves.
