Terrible service. Did not know chapel was being renovated until 2 days before funeral, otherwise would have held it at my church. Funeral held in parlor. Not enough seating. Funeral directors acted as if they did not know what they were doing. Chaotic. No sound system. Slide show in back of room, with chairs facing opposite. No clear direction after funeral service. Staff more interested in extracting more money even though it was a prepaid funeral and burial. What a sad send off for such a sweet mom who while living would do anything to make everyone feel cherished and loved. Completely different experience from my dad's funeral in 2000.
My parents passed within 9 months of each other, and I came to Alabama Heritage for help in both cases. The team there was incredibly responsive, flexible and compassionate. I have nothing but the highest recommendation for Beth Calloway and Channie Kahan, who were both there for me throughout difficult times for me and my family. With both my parent's funerals, the details were closely managed, and I was able to be fully present in the actual services and mourn "in the moment". They worked seamlessly to coordinate with my parents' church both times. From a business standpoint, I felt fairly treated and they put together programs consistent with my parent's wishes. In addition, the premises are well-appointed inside, and the grounds very well maintained outside. I recommend Alabama Heritage without hesitation.
Paul and Melissa and the entire staff at Alabama Heritage helped our family make the best decisions for our Father's funeral and burial. Everyone has been friendly, compassionate, kind and yet professional from the time we began making plans, through the services and even after my Father's funeral. This is a difficult time but this team helped put us at ease and ensure that we honored my Father throughout the process. I highly recommend choosing Alabama Heritage, the funeral home itself is beautiful, but Paul and his staff make the difficult time of death so much easier with great care and concern for the family and those grieving the loss of a loved one. Casey Nail was very helpful and caring in guiding our family through everything. Everyone we dealt with was very caring and professional. Beth Calloway is truly an outstanding funeral director. She and her team were able to turn a grief stricken, dark, black day into a wonderful celebration of my wife’s life. Beth listened to all of our stories and put it all together to show the love, care and passion that my wife had despite all the struggles she dealt with on a daily basis. My wife deserved the best, and she got it from Beth!
Our experience with Alabama Heritage Funeral Home exceeded my families expectations. We have used them twice before in the past and it is always consistent. Henri and Hanni were so kind and helpful. My mother’s passed away during the Covid 19 quarantine so we knew her service and funeral would be different. It was perfect and just what we asked for. I highly recommend Alabama Heritage Funeral Home.
Any death is difficult, and my father’s death was particularly hard for myself and my family. The people at Alabama Heritage went above an beyond to make sure our experience was exactly what we needed. We had many extra challenges including COVID, timing, and weather... Beth and Mike took care of every detail with patience and kindness. No wants to go through what we did, but the experience we had was as ideal as it could possibly be. Would highly recommend working with them when you lose a loved one.
This funeral home has done 3 of my family members' funerals in the last 10 years. I'm not sure who helped us 10 years ago when my uncle passed away, but they did a great job. Then last September when my grandfather passed away after a longtime illness, Casey was the funeral director who provided my family with care. She was so loving and comforted anyone she could. At that time, we were both pregnant, due about a month apart. I didn't deal with the planning process in these funerals, but in January when my infant son passed away, I knew immediately which funeral home to go to for services. They went above and beyond to make sure my little boy was taken care of and gave us the opportunity to get many momentos. Even though we did not use their facilities for a visitation or funeral, we still got the same level of service that my grandmother received when she planned my uncle's and grandfather's funerals. We were one of the first clients of Casey after she came back from maternity leave and she was so compassionate and caring checking to see if there was anything else she could help us with and making sure my husband, daughter and myself were doing as best as we could given the situation. They will always be our go to funeral home for our family in the future for the love and support we got from the entire staff at Alabama Heritage. Thank you, Casey & Paul, for all that y'all have done and continue to do. I would recommend them to anyone. Sorry for the novel!
My Mother passed away and Alabama Heritage Funeral Home could not have been more helpful and respectful. The service was beautiful. They allowed us to move from a smaller room to the chapel at the last minute. They just made everything as easy as possible during a difficult time. We chose the package with catering included and it was wonderful. It all seemed like a true celebration of life. Thank you Alabama Heritage. I highly recommend them.
Casey and the rest of the staff at Alabama Heritage did an excellent job with my mother’s visitation and service. They made everything as easy as possible during a difficult time. They even made my favorite cookies with my mother’s recipe to serve during visitation. They also provided similar excellence during my dad’s funeral almost 15 years earlier. I highly recommend them.
