My furever best friend came from here in 2014. He's an adorable tuxedo cat with the sweetest and sassiest personality. He's very healthy and he came neutered. I got him on a free day in August and the process was fast and easy. He loves me and my other cats and is currently cuddling my arm.

I am very disappointed with this facility for the first time ever. My husband and I adopted an adorable little puppy from them and within a few days of adopting the puppy the facility was shut down and was placed on quarantine due to a very contagious upper respiratory infection. This facility NEVER contacted me to inform me that my new puppy may have this extremely contagious upper respiratory infection. Not only did my puppy have an upper respiratory infection that he gave to my other dog he also was infested with hook worms that he also gave to my other dog and he also had an infection in his bladder that caused him to pee uncontrollably all over my house! I love this puppy and I have put $500 in medical bills towards making this puppy healthy again and that is not including the $200 I had to put towards my other dog to help her get healthy from all the stuff the new puppy gave to her. I understand adopting puppies come with risks but this puppy was very sick and I feel like this facility neglected this puppy and I unknowingly adopted a very ill puppy that ended up making my other dog very ill. In addition to the puppy being ill they gave him his rabbits vaccine way to early and now I have to vaccinate him for rabies and pay for it out of pocket. I don't not think I will ever adopt another animal from this facility! I'm very disappointed.

I guess they want you to feel bad to adopt. Kennels were shitty no help from staff

This shelter is always clean and I love the staff. This is the best place for you to get a friend.

Got ahold of them to come out to help us with getting our wolf dog in the house before the hurricane hit. They asked where we lived and we said our address is a Hawthorne address (alachua county, correct?) but our house is on Putnam county property. Then they go and tell us oh we can't come out there that's not our county, with a rude attitude. But even if you still have a alachua county address but have putnam county property shouldn't they still come out to assist? I don't understand how they even have three or four stars. Why call yourself animal control if you don't want to come out and help a couple with trying to get their animal inside!! I do not recommend calling them for any help with animals!!
