I never post anything but I recently had the most horrible experience at Alafia Animal Hospital. I called on Monday because my dog was sick. The receptionist told me they couldn’t see her all week and that I would have to go elsewhere. When I questioned how that was possible she got really nasty. She repeated more then once that I go elsewhere and then suggested I come down and just sit in the waiting room and they would eventually see me. Considering I work that wasn’t an option either. She kept trying to argue saying that she gave me good options and because I was in no mood to argue I just kept asking to leave a message for Dr. Ellen. Because I asked more then once she yelled at me to “shut up”. When I asked her why she said that since I wasn’t yelling or cursing, she said I was condescending. The tech then called me back and told me the same info with a nasty tone. Again I asked multiple times to leave a message for the Dr. She then yelled at me and told me I was no longer welcome there. After numerous tries to reach the Dr. I was told if I come by they would call the police. Wow!!! All this because I wanted my sick dog seen and to have a conversation with the vet. This is just not how you treat people.

Every experience I've had with them has been amazing. Through multiple pets, times of sadness and new beginnings.....the doctors and staff have been empathetic, professional, friendly and helpful. I recommend this office to anyone!

We have used them for boarding and vet. care it has been an excellent experience every time.  They always greet Maggie with a happy attitude when she comes in to board.  It makes us enjoy our vacation
when gone, to know that she is having a good time too.  Dr. Ellen Matheson, D.V.M. was very knowledgeable about some of Maggie's health issues when we first adopted her from the humane society.  Highly recommend!
