I have always loved this trail. It leads to the bay, where you can continue biking in the system of levees. The Creek and lake water levels are higher in the summer, so views are prettier then. The trail also passes through Quarry Lakes and Coyote Hills. Both beautiful protected parks. Worth a detour. No water or bathrooms available on the route, but Quarry Lakes and Coyote Hills both do. Not sure about the Isherwood Way parking lot... Will update.

Beautiful Park. They charge 5$ per car and some 3$ more per person if you want to use the beach facilities. Remember to take a sweater and sun lotion as there is a lot of open areas with no shadow. The place is gorgeous, very clean and well managed.

I meet up with a group of guys a couple of morning a week at the Isherwood staging area to run on the the trails. It is great location and plenty of people are around to keep you safe. No better place for running in Fremont.

This trail runs 12 miles in both directions along Alameda Creek from the mouth of Nikes Canyon all the way out to the Bay. Lots of wildlife and natural beauty. Park at one of the "staging areas," and get moving. The north side is unpaved for walking, horses, & joggers, while the south side is paved and more suitable for wheeled activities such as bicycling, skateboarding, and roller blading.

Nice trail that's as close to the city as it can get. There's always parking available though it's 5 dollars. There are picnic tables, volleyball courts, fishing spots and bbq grills for public use. You can also run the trail choosing from either of the 2+ or 3+ mile loops. There is always wildlife that you can see around here including deer, rabbits and squirrels.
