They don't even deserve 1 star. You are waiting there for hours, they scratched my head then when i asked for a trim they cut my hair to the SHORTEST layer. I went in with my hair to my shoulders and walked out looking like dora the explorer.

Alba's unisex is the first beauty salon I've visited since I moved from NY to NJ. I've had a couple bad experiences with them BUT I'm not ashamed to say I'll never go back there again! First bad experience is when I went in to get  my hair processed,one of Alba's employees accidentally put the wrong perm in my hair (mizani) and all my hair fell out in the back so I went natural thinking they would be able to care for my hair better when I wanted to get a simple blow out. I recently went to the salon with my mom to get my hair blown out and all I have to say is they are sooo lucky my mother was there to keep me calm because I would have never forgiven myself for embarrassing her in public, even though it would have served Alba's right. I got my hair washed and deep conditioned and was told to sit as the employees wrapped everyone else's hair in rollers. Kinky thick hair when dry isn't as manageable dry as it is wet so my hair hardened a bit as I patiently waited. If Only I knew what I would face when I sat in the chair I would have never came. This Dominican woman lifted the towel of my head and caught a fit as soon as she seen my naps. She threw a brush so hard it broke,went to the bathroom for about 13 minutes and came out speaking Spanish to her coworker about my hair. She parted my thick hair into huge parts blowing the blower thru my thick hair burning some of it off expecting to reach the root of my hair and she kept grabbing my face to exert power over me. My mom, my angel told me she would help grow my hair by herself because she seen how miserable I was and gave me money to tip her anyway... Alba your workers are super rude and that lady that did my hair a few days ago didn't deserve one cent from my mother. I would never come back to this salon & I'll always let everyone know of my horrible experience. If I ever decide to come back it won't b with my mom,it'll be with a elder Hispanic woman that told me she would gladly curse everyone in your salon out. I wish your business nothing. I'm building back up my esteem and finding a better salon I can trust and depend on. Your service sucks!

I love Albas I think their friendly and you feel like your part of something their. And when you walk your hair look fabolous. All the ladies in their are super cool as well.

I have been a regular at this place for some time, but apparently the owner is on maternity leave and the rest of staff has become so incredibly rude and ghetto acting toward its customers.  They treat the customers so poorly that it is absolutely ridiculous. The ONLY reason I did not provide the details in this review is because it is so bad and I would not want to totally embarass the owner as I am CERTAIN she has no idea this is going on.  I just sat there thinking, 'doobie shops are a dime a dozen and that I do not belong in (or need to be a part of) this hot ghetto mess'.
