Story

A small gem hidden in uptown Ottawa, Alberto's Restaurant serves the best authentic Northern Italian cuisine around. We feature all fresh ingredients, including pasta, fish, poultry, meat, vegetables and soups. It is a casual and contemporary atmosphere with daily wine specials. The food was good and nice atmosphere but a bit pricey! First time in 30 years of being married, that we’ve been charged extra for the salad dressing for our salad that came with our dinner! Also when we needed iced tea refills, we were informed that it’s 2.00 charge! That’s a first and we dine  out a lot!  Should be printed on the menu that you charge extra for both.

My wife and I eat regularly at this restaurant.  Alberto serves excellent food and has a friendly, knowlegable, and well trained staff.  His wine list contains many good wines at reasonable prices.  He also has an extensive selection of burbons and single malt scotches.

The best fresh mozzarella and tagliatta  anywhere. Seafood ravioli also awesome!

To those families who are looking for a restaurant for the whole family, please be advised that children's pasta will run you $18, yes, 18 American dollars for a plate of pasta with a bit of Alfredo sauce. I spoke to the owner and he said there was nothing he could do about the price. Really? As the owner he can't adjust prices for children? There were no prices on the menu and the waitress said she could ask the kitchen. We enjoyed the food, but it should not cost $36 to feed two children under 10 years of age. The owner was rude and disrespectful. Will never return.
