Terrible place. Arrived, waited, finally got waiter's attention, asked for a menu, 15 minutes later, still no menu. While waiting, I witnessed a group of patrons leave, then overheard a waiter say "you better check that plate, it has been sitting here a while" when one of the other waiters went to collect it from the makeshift kitchen, a stationary trailer. Horrible first impression! I saved myself some time and got up and left as well. I really enjoyed the fact that I had to pay to park here too as the parking lot is monitored by a zealous attendant who was quick to check vehicles for the parking receipt from the pay station. It's safe to say, I'll never return to this utter shite "restaurant."

Aldo's is always hit and miss for me. Sometimes the food is good, sometimes the service is good, rarely do you get both at the same time. Pretty standard cafe fare with a lot of seafood options including a delicious Shrimp or Crab Louie. You can't beat the views though!

Great food. The are in a temporary location while the sinkhole is fixed at the old location on the pier. Great sunny location perfect for people watching.

In its current location (2017), is literally a table-service patio that is serviced by a food truck. Service is good; a bit slow and they don't anticipate your needs, but they follow through on customer's requests. Paid parking in the harbor lot at the bottom of the hill, or you can street park for free on Atlantic Ave. Pretty sure this location is further into the harbor than its original location; you still get there by taking Altantic to the end, but turn left at the harbor entrance instead of going straight. The calamari (might be the most popular item on their menu) included tentacles and was tender and fried fairly well; breading could have been a bit more crunchy, but the squid was not overcooked.

Visiting from Sacramento and discovered that the original Aldos was closed. Tried their new outdoor setup by the harbor and enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. Service was terrific and everyone in our party thought the food was simply great. Look forward to coming back next time we are in Santa Cruz.
