This is one of my favourite places in the province. Always a lot of fun to explore. Late September is the best time to go if you can, no bugs and cool nights go along with spectacular views of fall foliage. If you are looking to see moose up close and personal, early spring is the time for you, but be sure not to get too close. They're still wild animals after all. If you do visit in early spring invest in a mosquito head net, best purchase you'll ever make.

Algonquin park is beautiful all year round but particularly so in the fall as the leaves begin to change. Fishing is good and there are a number of spots to rent canoes. There are a good mix of car camping campsites as well as interior park remote sites. It's always an adventure to run across a moose or a deer on your trip. Happy trails!

This is a great park to go with a group - or alone is a group is unavailable. Plenty of walking and biking trails available. We did the lookout trail, where an off route path takes you to a great lookout location. Yhe views are great! I've heard that the place looks greatest in fall when the forest looks like it's on fire - yet to experience!

70% leaves already fallen at this time, I'm not suggest to go not because of it but also the management is terrible. The restrooms in many spots are all closed or locked! Prepare for that physiologically. Stores are closed as well. The only road through this park was closed when we just got there and paid for the ticket, because of the accident, we waited for more than 2 hours but nothing changed. Finally we only visit ed one third of the the park!

There is so much to see and do in Algonquin. Backcountry camping is absolutely amazing with lots of well maintained sites and plenty of space between them. The portage's range from very easy to quite difficult but even beginners can get pretty deep into the wilderness with the right equipment and a good guide. Always best to research the area before you head in. Staff are really good resource if you call the park.
