While I was pleased with the overall quality and style of my hair, my experience was disappointing. 1) Shop was closed when I arrived 2) Alima showed 30 minutes late 3) It took 2 hrs longer to complete than she stated (with 2 stylists) 4) We agreed upon the $160 length; she did it longer and tried to get more money (telling the other stylist in French that it really should be $180).

First off let me say that my hair is beautiful and very neatly done. I was very pleased with my braids. BUT, my experience was unpleasant. A day before I went to get my hair done I called and asked how much for the type of braids I wanted and the owner told me 160. That was fine. So I went in and the woman who was doing my hair said 45 minutes. That was also fine, I am patient so I left and came back. She started my hair around 12:30 and I finished around 4:30. But my first complaint is that she braided my hair way too tight. Immediately after she was done I went through excruciating pain to the point where I didn't sleep for two nights. This will be day 4 of having them and I still cannot comfortably lay on my head. That's not even the worst part. When I paid the woman who did my hair 160 she immediately said that she told me 200 because of the size and length. I was confused but apparently she did say it because another girl in the shop heard her. I didn't argue with her but she was rude and told me "You agreed to 200 so you give 200". She was just rude to the point where my mood completely changed. The money wasn't the issue the problem is they don't take cards and I only had 160 in cash on me. So, this woman walked me over to the busted ATM at the gas station across the street and watched me like I was a criminal and the machine didn't work. She had the nerve to say "it worked for another woman this morning". I stopped and explained to her that she didn't need to be rude I'm not that kind of person to lie and scheme and that basically she needed to treat customers better. She was not listening at all. I walked in and spoke to the owner who was more understanding and told me to go to the ATM down the street. I wasn't able to go by myself I had to get in the car with the woman who did my hair and another woman in the shop. It gets even better... the other woman followed me up to the atm and watched me take my money out. I guess she thought I was going to run and leave my car at the shop.... lol. The owner was going to let me go on my own because she knew I would come back but the other woman was just being a jerk. Alima needs to new people in the shop doing hair because that messed up my whole experience. When I got back I did speak to the owner which was nice and she gave me a business card. She told me the girl who did my hair was still learning English but I feel as though for being treated like a criminal over $40 (which I constantly said I did not have a problem with paying because I love my hair) was not worth it and I will not be back. Not understanding English is no excuse. You try to listen and understand which she did not. If Alima or any of her staff reads this they need to understand that not everybody is out to get them. There are still good people in the world. The sad thing is that there was a woman being extremely rude while I was there and they did not give her any of the rudeness that I received.
