The 1-star is for my experience at the Reston location, not for the brand. I went in to exchange a pair of shoes that I'd ordered online which didn't fit (even though they were the same size as my other AE's). It was mid-afternoon on a weekday and the store was empty, but I was clearly bothering the only employee by being there. He flatly said the shoe was "sold out" and wouldn't be back in stock, so I said okay then I need to return it. He didn't offer to show me similar styles that *were* in stock, and had an off-putting demeanor throughout the interaction. When I returned home I checked the AE website only to find that the shoe was sold out ONLY IN THAT SPECIFIC COLOR! That's what really ticked me off and showed how little he cared for my business. Definitely won't be visiting the Reston location again as it doesn't reflect well upon the store's hiring manager (or the AE brand) to have such an apathetic salesperson working for them. Unfortunately didn't get his name, and (of course) it was omitted from the return receipt.

The store is very convenient with an entrance right from the hotel. Good selection even though it's a small store. The staff member took extra time to find me the right shoes that fit perfectly as I need wider shoes. She was great. The guys not so much.

I have a new respect for the AE brand after coming to this store. the reston sales are professionals at this and are also very pleasant to work with. I bought a pair and will buy another soon. Ecco have gone cheapo. These are top quality shoes. You really get what you pay your hard earned money for. i like the chance to buy American too.

These shoes are amazing, but similar styles can be bought for much less at other places.
