Alphabet Bar & Café
"Located in the lobby, Alphabet Bar & Café is the social heart of Moxy East Village. Part bar, outdoor lounge, and coffeehouse, each space is designed to shift from work to play as day turns to night. Design details like a bar wrapped in organ pipes and theatrical drapes that reveal concrete walls hung with vintage, graffiti-tagged mirrors add to the eclectic atmosphere.Adjacent to the bar, the café serves an all-day menu of custom coffee and tea brews, fresh-baked goods, composed salads, and seasonal paninis and tartines. With a retro, mid-century look and ample seating, the café offers inspiring and comfortable perches for co-working, relaxing, and catching up."

My girlfriend and I had a nice time here. We went on a Friday after dinner and had a couple drinks. The DJ had a nice mix and the transitions were perfect! The drinks were regular New York prices. I like to stick with an old fashion drink and it was pretty good. They also had a free ski ball game that added some extra fun to the night. Will definitely go back!
New girl was Great ..think her name was Martina? anyways I was there for drinks while still working on Westcoast time and she kept them coming.. she made sure I was happy with taste . And would remake them If I wasn't happy
Didn't have the food, sat in the lounge and relaxed waiting for friends. Great little spotService: 5/5
I went to the Alphabet Bar & Café for NYE 2023 and it was a great experience. We were four people and the NYE party was split up in two parts. From 8-10 PM we had free tacos soft shells at the rooftop bar. The food was actually really good and the rooftop bar was also really nice good view of the city. After the 10PM mark, we were all accompanied downstairs to go to the alphabet bar to continue the party till 1AM. To note that it was an all-you-can drink from 8PM-1AM. We were able to get a lot of drinks in for the price ~150$ per person and to include that we also got food, is very worth it. The only reason I won’t give it a five star, is their decision to take us from the rooftop to the basement almost basement, tbh there were no windows at 10PM. They should’ve done the opposite. I mean the view was great. All-in-all, I loved my experience for the NYE Party.
The place is amazing, but the bartenders are awesome. Adriana made my day, service was incredible! I would come back every day, loved it!Food: 5/5
Love this place! Super cool inside with a really welcoming but fun vibe. Staff were amazing, just found this place and will now be a regular!
If you go for midnight hour just know that depending on the DJ it may not be all Taylor Swift it was about 50% Taylor when I went and that you will be surveilled by a videographer without any type of consent form or written warning by the door! It’s weird!
This place has a great cocktail lounge/library vibe. Small outdoor space available when the weather is nice.y cocktail was off the menu and was great. It's a little difficult to find from the street you have to go down some stairs. -1 star because the bartender looked like he could barely be bothered to be there. There was only appx a dozen people in the place so he definitely wasn't busy. Still would definitely go back.
Rude Aussie bartender. Horrible. My daughter and I traveled to NYC from Austin and stayed at the moxy for her 21st and before dinner we decided to try the hotel lounge for her first official drink. The bar was left unattended for 5mins or more. Very odd. But there were people mulling around the bar w drinks so we stuck it out. Then the bartender arrives and a young woman from a large group at the bar that he passed calls out “excuse me” and he very rudely barks at her some nasty response as he regains his position behind the bar to chat up what looks like a personal acquaintance. Only a sign of things to come. He addresses her a minute or two later then comes to us. I explain our sitch to him and ask for an old fashioned which was 1 of half dozen cocktails on the small menu offered at the bar and my daughter expressed interest in trying it before heading to a very heavy dinner just after and we try to engage in conversation about other drinks to try out for the evening and he proceeds to school us on old fashioneds, saying it was a poor choice, asking whether we’ve had anything to eat before drinking then starts aggressively throwing shots of bourbon into the shaker when I insisted on trying the drink anyways massive reckless over pour like he was raging w maybe two drops of bitters as if he wanted to punish us for ordering the drink in the first place. The drinks were horrible naturally. I knew instantly it wasn’t us bc he had entered the bar in that state and we didn’t let him ruin our evening. AND I tipped him bc I know how hard bartenders and such have it during these times but I thought it was important to share bc he treated everyone that way and I wouldn’t want anyone else to subject themselves to his terrible service. Never caught his name but he’s a doughy guy who said to the group of ladies he was from Melbourne and had a horrible dye job and nasty smug. Can’t miss him but then again the point is you should.
Great service. Good eats and drink.Food: 5/5
