The good -  Servings are robust;  you won't leave hungry (and will probably need a box) 

Great wine menu!

Great ambiance.  The place "feels" good.

Great menu selection.  Lots of different types of dishes.

My server was excellent. 

The bad -  I didn't like the taste of their red sauce.  It had too much of something in it but couldn't tell exactly what.  It was overwhelming and I couldn't finish my meal because of it.  It kind of ruined my first experience there.  My girlfriend dining with me kind of said the same thing.   I understand everyone's palette is different though so I encourage you to judge for yourself.

Prices were on the high side I thought for pasta based dishes.

The booth I sat in was repaired with gray tape.  Kind of tacky and it stood out like a sore thumb.

Overall I'd recommend trying this place out.  I'm going to go back a few times and sample a few more dishes.

Altony's is honestly probably the best restaurants in the Fargo Moorhead area. The food is high quality, but the prices are incredibly reasonable. Every meal comes with a salad and a small ice cream dish and the portions are very generous. If you are looking for Italian food - go to Altony's.

Authentic atmosphere and flavors. Felt like I was back in Rome. Huge portions served by very friendly staff.  Great prices. Will be back and bring family from out of town  Very close to Grandma's cooking!

I really liked this place for several reasons. First, this food is conveniently located on Highway 10. Second, I’ve was really impressed with the quality and taste of the several dishes that I’ve had here. Lastly, their “whole” portions are huge so be prepared to take leftovers home. I had a really good experience here; the only thing that I would recommend is to eat here during an off-time as the service can be slow during the busiest of times. Overall, this place is great and I would eat here again.

The food is great! The servings are huge. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy.
