You can't judge the airport by the carrier that is operating there. As a pilot I can say this is one of the best airports in central PA to fly into. The runways are wide and well maintained, there is a crosswind runway and all the approaches have very little rising terrain to cause concerns. It is non-towered and not busy so it is an excellent place to practice. The FBO guys are prompt and courteous.

Horrible airport. They boast of cheap flights, but that's because their service is so unpredictable they cannot charge more. Twice now I have had someone book a flight from there to come visit me only to have their flights cancelled after they have sat in the airport waiting to take off. Unacceptable.

I was very disappointed in the flight service. I thought this was a wonderful setup to avoid  driving to Pittsburgh.  I will not invest in this flight service again.   The fight was delayed due to fog earlier which is fine, therefore causing me to miss the fight out of Pittsburgh ✈️.  Had I been notified in advance I could have driven and made my flight. Not to mention the counter service was not very friendly. Rethink using Altoona/Blair airport. I could not change the plans therefore I end up being the loser.

Nice airport to fly into for breakfast with friends. Kittyhawk Restaurant is very pilot friendly!
