I have been training Bjj, Muay Thai and mma since 2011. During those years I had privilege to train previously in 2 other great gyms. AMA is my 3rd mma gym and possibly the best place I got the chance to train. Its a great place. A home to true athletes. If you are new don't feel intimidated because those guys are very respectful and everyone is willing to help you out. If you decide to take on Muay Thay you will be training under a living Muay Thai legend, Kaensack. Bjj program is top notch. I was really happy to find out that Professor Helwig takes his craft very seriously. Each Bjj practice feels like a personal class because he is very attentive to his students. Rules of a good class are always implemented ( no talking, focus, listen, etc). You get to train with wide variety of skill levels, weight class and age. Open mat is just a true test of your abilities. Big "H" is always there waiting for you. You will always learn something from that encounter. Now let me make it clear, you will be pushed to break your limitations. This is how you will grow. If your goal is loosing weight, changing your body composition or getting into shape in general, trust me that's just a side effect of a good training program that is a standard. It might seem like I'm sugar coating but trust me it's also a serious gym. Top level guys from mma world pop up there to train. Many guys who train there compete and are really passionate about what they do.

Took classes there a few years ago. The iinstructor are great, and they really strive to create a personal connection. Your not just a number. Going back soon.

AMA is the best martial arts school in the North Jersey are.  They have an amazing facility and Outstanding programs.  The thing I like about this school is the fact that they have classes all day every day to fit my busy schedule.  Plus the have black belts that teach their classes.  This place is for everyone, from the basic classes for someone who has never trained in the martial arts to people who are professional fighters.  Its cool that you can walk around the school and see people who actually fight in the UFC.  I highly suggest you check out this school.  Bar non the best anywhere

I've been a fan of MMA for as long as I can remember, but only recently was I able to muster up the courage to sign up at AMA. I can honestly say it was the best fitness decision I've ever made. AMA houses world-renown instructors who are always willing to take the time to answer questions and ensure you are developing your skill set. The students/training partners are like one big family. So do not be hesitant as I was…come to AMA to watch a class. I guarantee you will sign up right then and there!
