Amarillo Consolidated Travel has been a locally owned and operated store front travel agency in Amarillo for over 30 years. We are one of the last agencies in Amarillo who are a ticketing agency. Let me start by saying we value your feedback and we appreciate your business. I sent you an email that had 4 to 5 hotels, on August 2, 2017, and your husband booked directly through the email. FunJet did not inform our agency that you had booked direct through them, and we were unaware that you had booked until your husband emailed the agency inquiring if we were mailing the plane tickets. At that time, I called to go over the booking, and I explained that he had not purchased insurance. After explaining what the insurance was for, he told me "No, We are going!" Funjet's policy on adding insurance is that it cannot be added after the trip is paid in full, the 7 day window to add it only applies to trips booked more than 45 days out with a deposit. Your trip was booked 43 days out, so you could no longer add the insurance. When Maria hit, I called FunJet and was told that because you had not purchased insurance we would have to wait until the airlines made a decision on how they were going to handle those traveling after the hurricane. United airlines waived fees in order to move the trip, but your husband refused to move the trip because the prices were higher. Unfortunately, due to the fact that you didn't have insurance, if you were to cancel the trip you would have lost the entire amount of the trip. The last time I spoke to FunJet about your trip, they informed me that the resort was still open. I contacted the resort, but did not receive a response. I am glad to learn that you were able to go on your trip, and I hope that you had a good time.

I can not even give this place half a star ( but I had to leave atleast one to place my review). We had spoken to Peggy, She sent us over the information we wanted and my husband got the impression to fill out everything himself. He did, and forgot to add the insurance. ( let me Add she booked through FUNJET VACTIONS) Well she had not sent us any conformation information so we thought she was scamming us, so we called and asked if we could just cancel the trip,she told us we could not because we had not purchased the Insurance. ( little did we know after trying to get things changed because of Hurricane Harvey, Irma, and Maria we had 7 days to purchase the Insurance for the trip) She told us since we did not purchase the insurance that we could not get the trip canceled. She then did not try and help with any situation, she would give us the run around, would answer the phone with the First words out of her mouth being "I was in the BATHROOM" . Super Unprofessional. In the End she was going to try and move the trip up a later date since Irma was just hitting Florida, and we were okay with that decision because going was better than losing all of our investment from the trip, she told me this was on a Wednesday that I had till that coming Monday to let her know when we wanted to change the trip that we needed to at least let her know 3 days before departure. Okay so I told her to be ahead of the game I would let her know the next day which was a Friday,7 Days before departure. We Let Peggy know that we wanted to move the date up that Friday, She calls us Saturday morning and advises us that it didn't Matter what she did, we were out of luck and was going to lose our money if we didn't go ( Duh ) that there was nothing she could do and that we could chance it and possibly not enjoy our trip because of the devastation. We finally were able to get a hold of a really helpful Fun Jet Rep ( we went above Peggy , Obviously she was no help and was not interested in helping ) and she was able to help us way more than Peggy was able to help . Actually we never had a hotel room till half way to our destination , because of all the Jumble and Mess of the Hurricane. The Fun Jet Rep was able to get the hotel room Changed because the Original place we was supposed to stay was closed all the way up till half way through our trip. No one the whole time called and let us know about Hotels being closed. We had to do the work all by ourselves. I guess what I am trying to say is, DON'T USE THIS PLACE, they are not willing to help and be professional about the their Business .

I've been to some of the most amazing places with the help of this agency. They know where all the hot spots are at. They took care of everything for me. I felt so much more secure booking through Amarillo Consolidate Travel. There prices are very competing - no hidden fees. I would recommend them to everybody I know.
