This is probably the most comfortable movie house in town. The reclining seats are the best you can get. The place is usually always clean and the staff is super friendly. The one let down is the outrageous price of a ticket here. You can expect to go just about anywhere else and expect to pay much less. However, for the comfort and cleanliness, I am willing to pay a bit extra for an enjoyable night out. My consumer rating B+

I love this location! I don't really go to any other theatre unless other people force me to lol. Their reclining seats are top notch and it every room! They have lots of space to them and you can move the divider in the middle if you'd like to cuddle with your S.O. Myself and others bring blankets into the theatre all the time! Very comfortable, good sound and display. Clean environment. Decent/good staff.

I am basing this review on our experiences for the hearing impaired.  My dad needs to use their assisted listening devices when we go to a movie.  Cinemark usually works really well but when we go to AMC in Layton it doesn't work.  We've tried twice recently (Black Panther and today A Wrinkle in Time).  Both times it was a disaster.  The crew did try everything they could so I don't fault them directly.  I even convinced the manager helping us to get her personal headphones from her car and try it with their system (she was sure it was that their headphones didn't work and not the system).  Still didn't work.  Ultimately, my dad has now "seen" both of these movies but still hasn't gotten to experience them.  Ultimately, he ended up napping both times since he couldn't follow what was happening.  On the plus side, the chairs are comfy enough to enjoy a great two hour nap for $12.

This really is my favorite local theater. Even the smaller screens have the very nice reclining seats which helps even the front row have a great view of the screen. Employees are friendly and professional and do a great job keeping the theaters clean. The food is crazy expensive, but that is typical of any movie theater. There is not another venue in northern Utah which is a more comfortable place to watch a movie.

Now, if I were to rate AMC based off of this location alone, it'd be about 4 stars, but I have issues with the company as a whole.

As for AMC as a company, they're nothing short of the angry grandpa of the movie industry; angry about Moviepass getting cheaper, charging around an average of $3-$7 more a ticket than their average competitor, and even considering having theaters dedicated to teens who are willing to just pay to be on their phones for the whole duration of the film. These things sort of just anger me when their competitors are much more lax, and even cheaper.

As for this Layton location. It's good.

The screens are nice, the fact that they have reclining seats are nice (although a good chunk of them are either torn up, or built rather poorly), and the sound systems are good, too. Towards their later showings, the place can get REALLY dirty if you're going in on a weekday. I haven't interacted with the staff much, but they're okay, if not very outgoing. Overall, a decent theater.
