Let me explain something to reviewers or people reading this who might think this is false advertising that they say $15 but get charged more: America Latina charges $15. This is independent of Department of Justice or FBI processing fees. You may be charged more or less depending on what you need the live scan for (license or permit, job background check, foster application, etc.) and what it checks (say, for example, whoever is requesting the live scan from you wants the Child Abuse Index checked, which is more $). So the price will depend on what YOU need the live scan for, which has absolutely nothing to do with the business. Also, America Latina simply submits your fingerprints to DOJ/FBI, they have absolutely NOTHING to do with the rest of the process. A live scan is a way for you to give consent to DOJ and FBI to provide your criminal history (or lack of) to whoever is requesting it from you. This is highly sensitive information that America Latina and other live scan operators are not privy to (think about it, would you want them to have your personal history/information??). They are not involved in the process beyond taking your fingerprints and can therefore not follow-up on the process with you. NOTE: I used to be a live scan operator.

SOOO SO rude. I got here at 11:45 and the man that was there told me that the lady who does the livescan would arrive in 10 minutes (mind you, the place opens at 10 AM.) 15 minutes pass by and the man decides to call the lady "where are you? It's already 12 and someone is here waiting for you". 12:30 comes along and she FINALLY shows up. Very rude service, I had called the place earlier that day and asked how much i'd get charged, they said $64 (and I had given all the info necessary so they can know how much they would charge me exactly. I arrive here and the lady said $70. I told her this is not what I was told. Since I was already upset I decided to get up, leave, and go where it would be cheaper. DONT COME HERE. THEY ARE VERY RUDE AND IRRESPONSIBLE. While I was there their phone rang twice ans no one answered!!!

They advertise Live Scan for $15. For me it was $67. The girl after me was quoted $90. False advertising! They attach a note after you've paid: "Please do not depend on the Live Scan technician to provide you with any type of follow up." Um, OK. So my paper just sits in the inbox?

They never answer the phone. Take extra long lunches while customers wait. Poorly managed. I dont understand.
