This place was amazing to experience and the staff had great customer service. If you want to learn more about Cuban culture make sure you check this place out.
An excellent concise museum, beautifully designed. This is our second exhibit, with the Celia Cruz being the first and will return again...have recommended the museum to various friends.
Awesome please to visit to know more about different aspects of Cuban Culture and History. Recently visited during the Pedro Pan exhibit and it was excellent. Really helped to have the tour as the gentleman explained everything in great detail and he has been part of Pedro Pan. That definitely helped really appreciate all the details even more.
I loved the experience. Learned so much about my Cuban history. Learned a lot about the Pedro Pan Operation
My family members were not Pedro Pan Father was a Balsero but it was nice to see history and stories of those who lived to tell the tale of what happened those few years. The items are donated from Pedro Pan children so it allows you to get a sense of just how young they all were when they were forced to grow up.
An excellent way to gain first hand cultural experience about a situation of great significance to our country today. Everyone in the museum was knowledgeable and helpful. They spent lots of time explaining the history that led to the exodus of more than 14,000 overprotected children out of the ‘safety’ of their homes into the unknown. Most of those children many of them grandparents now know now the heartbreaking sacrifice their parents made to give them a chance at freedom. To them, their children and grandchildren…. A must see!
The American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora is a highly recommended place if you are looking for an approach to the Cuba that beats in the US and in the world. You will always find exhibitions of Cuban artists who have contributed to spreading their culture internationally. In addition to that it is an experience to know and understand the two Cubas in many of its aspects. The museum is located in a very convenient place and in a very beautiful building worth admiring.
No pictures from inside. Why you may ask? Because it is not ever open during its "hours of operations ". Not open weekdays or weekends when they are suppose to function. I try called and get a full mailbox. Its almost a front of some sort. Ridiculous! Call first before going.
Learned so much about the Cuban diaspora and the Peter Pedro Pan flights. Also, the documentary about the Cuban Freedom fighters involved in the "Bay of Pigs" known as Battalion 2506, was amazingly informative. Cuban Americans can be proud of the dignity these heros comported themselves. Great exhibit a must for all Freedom loving people!
Nice exhibition on one of the Queens of Cuba....Azucar!
