Visiting the birthplace of buffalo wings has been on my foodie bucket list, so I’m really glad I was able to visit Anchor Bar’s original location! We ordered the original flavor, medium buffalo, and it was definitely tasty! Being from Connecticut, I’ve noticed when I’ve had wings in the Buffalo area, they’re not as saucy as I’m used to. That would be my main critique, but otherwise these wings were great! The sampler platter was good, but definitely nothing crazy presentation-wise. We enjoyed the Buffalo style cup n char pepperoni pizza too! The waitress was good but definitely meant business and didn’t go out of her way to make pleasantries, which I can understand because they’re such a busy place. Really cool vibe - it was almost sensory overload taking everything in that was on the walls!
Quick stop while on our way through Buffalo ... the queen likes their fish fry, and I love sampling their wing flavours. Original wing sauce was awesome as always, the spicy BBQ sauslce was OK. I found the wings, this time around, to be a little tougher to pull away from the bone ... but not as bad as I've experienced at other wing joints. We'll be back. Parking: Lots of parking, but when during their busy times, this lot fills up real fast.
We stopped here for dinner on our road trip back from Niagara Falls and it was absolutely amazing! Of course they had the best wings I’ve ever had but everything else was amazing too! The garlic bread, coconut shrimp, and pizza rolls were great. The fries are the only thing that I think could have been improved but this place is well worth the stop!
FANTASTIC RESTAURANT AND ATMOSPHERE with such originality! The BEST wings and BUFFALO SAUCE! I loved it and have been wanting to come for years. They have a big parking lot and great merchandise to purchase too. THIS IS A MUST TRIP FOR THE CHICKEN WING ENTHUSIAST!!! The pizza was really good too! Wendy's right next door was empty!Food: 5/5
When in Buffalo... This place has a cool, old-school feel to it. The staff are great and provide excellent service. The wings were cooked to perfection; they had the right amount of seasoning and sauce! We had beer and wings and decided to throw a salad in there for good measure. It was fresh, yummy and added a bit of cool that paired well with the wings. Parking: Large free parking lot located next to business. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly
Its the original ..simply wings not crazy or trending just good simple wings ..and good basic food staples ..my server was fast.. attentive ..and direct ANCHOR BAR ON MAIN has the energy of place that has seen countless celebrities ...based on the walls adorned with endless signatures....if your popping into buffalo it's worth a stop in for a taste of history
Made a quick pit stop at the birthplace of the buffalo wing, for a quick bite. Opted for buffalo and garlic parmesan wings, accompanied by a side of fries for sharing. The buffalo flavor was the best out of the two. However, the service left much to be desired—lacking in attentiveness and care, which was reflected in the overall experience.
The home of the original buffalo wings. This place was on my to-do list for some time. When we got an opportunity to visit Niagara falls, we decided to make the 20 minute trip to Buffalo city for lunch. We ordered the chicken wings with the original sauce plus a peperoni pizza and garlic bread. Allitems were top-notch. If you want the original buffalo wings, this is the place to go.
It was a Friday, waiting 30 minutes to get seated expecting great food. Ordered fries pickles, those were great. Pizza okay. Wings were cold and dry. After that we waited another hour and a half for food. The drinks were wrong, waitress never came back. When someone else brought out the meal, this is what the bun looked like. Beef on weck, unfortunately was more like beef on wetbun. Pizza okay. Wings were cold and dry. Waitress never came back, couldn't even send back. Total of almost 3 hours and I wish we would have left after the first.
The service is really slow. We only ordered 3 set of burgers, 1 pizza and 20pc chicken wings, and we wait 30mins for foods. The staff is unfriendly. The chicken wings are too salty. The meat in the burger is dry and the bread is cold. Even we want to pay the bill, we wait for 20 minutes for our bill..... The overall experience is very worse. Really not recommended this restaurant.
