Story

Angelica’s Bakery was founded because a young girl recognized that the cakes, pies and puddings that her mom made really were the “BEST”. She knew with every bite she took that anything that tasted so good had to be shared with friends, family, neighbors and the entire world. Stepping out on faith and with love for family and tradition, Angelicas Bakery opened its first location in the suburbs of Chicago nearly 25 years ago. Today the original recipes of cakes, cobblers and puddings are made the same as they were many generations ago. Friends and family all around the world are now able to enjoy the delicious treats and good feelings that each Angelicas dessert brings.

Angelica’s is a family owned bakery where values are strong and commitment to the community is important. Angelica’s supports the community through sponsorships of local teams and community events.

I purchased a key lime cake online to have delivered to my home in Atlanta after hearing the owner (Paul Stokes) on the radio. I must say that I was really impressed with the ease of purchase, the speed of delivery, the care of delivery AND ultimately THE CAKE WAS SOOOOO FREAKING AMAZING. Thank you Algelica's bakery for not only being consummate professionals with my order but for also for being a pillar of strength in the community by given employment to those seeking second chances (I heard this on the radio ☺) Good job!!!

I gave Angelic's 2 Stars only because I have been patronizing them since 2002. I made an order back in July, for my mother's 70th Birthday Party. I orders 2 Carmel cakes totaling $59. When they arrived, to our suprise. They were not what we thought. The size of these delivered cakes are very small. Not what we're used to. So the next day I called and complained. I was told there was nothing they could do. So Today Sept. 22 2017 I'm in Chicago, my kids and mother in the car with me asking about Angelica's, so I called and asked to speak with the owner. After been told to call back, he wasn't in. I called back a couple hours later. I spoke with the Owner Paul make a long story short. Paul would rater loose a customer than work something out. I offered to purchase a cake if he would foot the bill for one. The answer was , no, no, no. If I could drive from St Louis to Chicago. And then an hour to Hazelcrest to the Bakery. And the way he spoke to me. I felt he doesn't value me as a customer. I am a black bussiness owner as well, I shared this with Paul, and his answer was then you should understand. Not I don't understand. Because it's important to me that all my clients are happy with the products and services I offter. Customer since 2002. I will not be going BACK!!! And to add the customer service was horrible..... When I kept trying to call back..... From my 314 number they wouldn't answer. As soon as I called from my mom's 630 Dupage number, they picked right up. Sad. And I really try and support black owned bussiness. Paul you must do better!!!!!!!!! Your customers are your bussiness!!!!!!! Lol

Zero stars - I bought a Caramel and Red Velvet cake for Thanksgiving, they were out of the Key Lime Cake after saying over the phone that they had plenty and I could not pre-order. The two cakes that I did purchase were horrible, they were dry and not moist at all. The majority of the cakes are still sitting on my counter, none of our guests even wanted to take slices home. I was so upset about not being able to get a Key Lime Cake that I decided to make my own - That cake is gone, our guests loved it! I was a faithful customer, but I will find another bakery or make my own.
