I took my dog Saturday because his stitches had become infected. No where else was open, so I didn't have much choice. Staff is friendly but don't seem to be the animal lovers that you find at most vets. The wait was long but it's understandable. The part that bothers me is that they seem to take advantage of the trusting customer. After a 4 hour wait I was tired and desperate for my dog to feel better. They charged me $190 to send out the culture to determine the type of infection. Obviously I had no choice but to trust them. They also put him on a second antibiotic to add to the one our vet had him on. When I spoke to my vet she said the emergency vet duped me with the culture check. The results won't come back for 2 weeks! He will be off both antibiotics and his stitches will be out by then! It would be nice to have a place to go in an emergency that actually cared about animals and their owners instead of just adding extra charges to the bill.

I understand that the circumstance involving taking your pet to emergency care is difficult, however, staff behavior can either help or make the situation worse. We recently had to take our beloved 13 year old pet to this facility for difficulty breathing. The staff that night was very helpful and the vet on site that evening was compassionate and caring. Unfortunately we again had to return 4 days later with our loved one. The staff that evening was beyond HORRIBLE. My dog was in severe distress and could barely breathe when we arrived. The man behind the front counter did carry her to the back area which I appreciated. I parked my car and when I came inside I asked if I could be with my pet. They said no however were very quick to present paperwork to sign and ask for a credit card. I waited a few minutes and asked if my pet was still breathing. I was told he didn’t know, he was not involved with my pet. I again waited a little while and asked if he could please check to see if she was stable. He informed me that the area out front was his area and he is not involved in the back. It would have taken him 10 seconds to check. It was not that he was extremely busy, he definitely had time to watch the baseball game that was on the t.v. in the lobby. Over an hour had passed and I again approached the staff and asked if I could please speak with the vet, I did not want my dog put through anymore. He told me to have a seat. This went on for hours. I was sobbing and no one there seemed to care about my dog. I had not one update the entire time I was waiting in the lobby which was hours. Finally I was taken to a room. A tech came in and I asked if my dog was stable and what was going on and was told the vet would be in shortly. When the vet did arrive she was AWFUL, cold and detached. It was not the same vet we had the previous visit. After much discussion I realized my poor baby had been through enough and the difficult decision was made to put her to sleep. They left me sit in the room for over 30 minutes waiting to be taken to another room and watch my loved one die. It was a horrible experience that was made even worse by the people working there.

I understand that this is an after hours hospital so the vets can charge extra for services but it is ridiculous. I feel like they prey on concerned pet owners because they know they will pay for help. I would have been charged $200 more for one test than I was charged for tests, diagnosis and medication total at my primary vet. Yes, I understand this place is for emergencies however, I believe they could figure out away to not rob people. I went in concerned for my dog who turned out to have a very serious intestinal problem that would have killed him but because of the ridiculous prices I had to wait until early morning the next day to be seen by my primary vet. It was a rough night and I feared I was going to loose my dog because I could not pay the money they would have charged me for help right away. Luckily, my dog made it and is on his way to a full recovery thanks to my compassionate primary veterinarian. Staff was friendly until I informed them I would not pay the estimated price which they then proceeded to rush me out in a hurry.

Though we did have a very long wait (Over 7 hours). I am grateful they were there to help Scottie feel so much better. The staff were friendly and courteous. Thanks Erin Shevock, DVM for your quality care. And the young man, at the front desk, you rock. Thank you for everything.

The love of my life my little T O passed away I took him there and they were the most kind loving and caring people I don't know what I would've done if it wasn't for them I will forever be grateful for how my dog was treated and how sweet they were to me
