The staff at Animal Medical Group is available 6 days a week to care for all your pet's needs.

At Animal Medical Group, we offer complete health care for your pets, including dental care. We continue to strive to improve our dental care and develop new treatments for our patients

Dentistry Services: Dental Laser Surgery (less pain and swelling), Endodontics (root canals), Periodontics (preserve tooth-supporting structures, guided tissue regeneration), Crown Restoration, Orthodontics (braces), Oral Surgery (tumor therapy, fractures), Laser Stomatitis Treatment (G.V.S), Dental Digital Radiography (for definitive diagnosis and treatment planning), Dental Implants, Canine Disarming, and Emergency Oral Trauma Treatment.

Laser Surgery: As a full service veterinary hospital, we use laser surgery extensively in declaws, animal dentistry and general surgery because it seals nerve endings for pain relief, bloodless surgeries and is superior to non-laser techniques. Our staff lectures and trains other veterinarians around the world on laser techniques.

Anesthesia: We use anesthesia and monitoring protocols that are higher in quality to many humans H.M.Os. This allows safe and effective anesthesia with smooth recoveries for your pet while giving you peace of mind.

David B. Nielsen, DVM (Founder/Veterinary Dentist) - practices exclusively as a veterinary dentist, using highly advanced techniques and specialized therapies. Dr. Nielsen is a pioneer in animal dentistry and is a well-known national and international lecturer on new techniques in laser treatments and pet dentistry. Dr. Nielsen is the proud recipient of the "SCVMA 2004 H. Don Mahan Award.

Dr. Andrew Krieger, DVM - Prior to veterinary school at The Ohio State University, Dr. Krieger developed a strong interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery while working as a veterinary surgery technician. After graduation, he practiced in Ohio and expanded and strengthened his surgical skills under the supervision and mentorship of a very experienced surgeon. Dr. Krieger and his wife Aimee, who is also a veterinarian, have family in Manhattan Beach and are excited to be a part of the community. He enjoys skiing, scuba diving, biking, learning how to surf, and traveling.

Dr. Ashley Koester, DVM - After Dr. Koester and her identical twin sister led their Northwestern University Lacrosse team to a national championship, she received her DVM degree from Purdue University. Although she grew up loving to spend time at her father’s veterinary practice in Indiana, she followed her sister and moved to Manhattan Beach, where the community is perfect for her active lifestyle. Her hobbies are running on the beach, backpacking, snowboarding, and learning to surf.
