Annabell Alegria was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1962 and was raised in Port Isabel, Texas. Annabell obtained her undergraduate degree in 1985 from Wellesley College, Wellesley Massachusetts with a BA in political science and thereafter graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in December of 1988. She is licensed to practice in all state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She is active in local civic organizations including Zonta International of Brownsville. She is a past president of the Cameron County Bar Association and chairperson of the United Way of Southern Cameron County. She was inducted into the Leadership Texas Class of 1999. As an associate with the law firm of Willette & Aguilar, she engaged almost exclusively in insurance defense litigation including civil rights actions, lawsuits brought against governmental entities, automobile claims, premises liabilty claims, food poisoning cases, employment related torts and general negligence claims. Annabell has also represented various governmental and institutional clients including: City of Roma; Brownsville Public Utilities Board; City of McAllen; City of Mercedes; City of Pharr; Town of Rancho Viejo; City of Raymondville; Cameron County; and Hidalgo County. She has served as councel for the Port Isabel Housing Authority, Brownsville Housing Authority, and the Community Development Corporation of Brownsville. Annabell is fluent in spanish.
