Not bad, definitely above average, but I’m not rushing back. The best thing I got was the bread that came with the Channa Masala. It was super light, buttery, kind of sweet and the bottom was crispy which provided it a great bit of texture. The Masala itself was good but it tasted exactly like the Hyderabad Baingan ka Bartha. I will say, both dishes were packed with flavor, it just happened to be the same one. The dosa is impressively large, but is a useless vessel for the dips it comes with. 80% of it is too thin and crispy, think the burnt end of a pancake, to actually carry or complement the dips. It is fun to eat through because it is so large and the bottom is a bit thicker so it can pick up some sauce, but other than that, it’s unremarkable. The Gualb Jamun for dessert tasted like a soggy donut hole. It was fine but I would it order it again. While Annapurna Cuisine is serving up very authentic Indian food, it isn’t close tot he best I’ve had.
If you are looking for Authentic South Indian food in CA then this is it. Veg biryani I won’t say it’s authentic but good biryani. The only thing need to fix is washroom a complete mess.Food: 4/5
I visited this restaurant today on the 5th July 2024 for Lunch. Our family tried idly Vada, sambar dipped idly, masala dosa, coffee and mango lassi. Sambar was outstanding in taste. It was perfect with the right consistency added with brinjal, drumstick and carrot. So the dipped version of idly was the best. Then comes their mango lassi and masala dosa in the order of taste No meal is served here. Hotel was busy and PPL were waiting. Demand for dosa was more and we had to wait. Coffee is not a filtered one. It's from instant powder. The restaurant does delivery also.
As an Indian, I love this spot! Really good service, the people are nice and the food is great. Also pretty affordable! Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Really delicious and authentic South Indian food - the onion dosa, the sambhar idli and the pav bhaji are good, though my favourite dish is the bisibele bhaat, which was absolutely outstanding. Fast service and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
Great cuisine. Huge, delicious dosas. Nice service. The restaurant filled up for lunch, and seems very popular. One drawback was that the booths were quite firm and not super comfortable. Food choices are available for gluten-sensitive and onion-and-garlic-sensitive folks. Dietary restrictions: Food choices are available for gluten-sensitive and onion-and-garlic-sensitive folks.
After exploring the major spots in LA, we decided to satisfy our hunger with dinner at Annapurna Cuisine, a pure vegetarian restaurant. Here’s a detailed review of our dining experience: #### Parking and Ambience One of the best parts about Annapurna Cuisine is the free parking available on a first-come, first-served basis. The restaurant has a typical, authentic Indian vegetarian restaurant vibe. With both booth and normal seating areas, the place was bustling when we arrived, indicating its popularity. #### Our Order We ordered a variety of dishes: Hot Chilli Bhaji, Veg Hakka Noodles, Medhu Vada, and Rasmalai. - **Hot Chilli Bhaji**: Surprisingly, the bhaji wasn't too spicy, making it a great option for everyone to try. - **Veg Hakka Noodles**: This dish stole the show. The noodles were exceptionally delicious, enough for two people, and we devoured them quickly. - **Medhu Vada**: If you are a fan of dosas, you should definitely try them here—they are huge and flavorful. Be sure to ask for your preferred spice level. - **Rasmalai**: The dessert was a perfect end to our meal, satisfying our sweet cravings. #### Service and Overall Experience The service was prompt, and all the items came out well-prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the variety of options available. #### Conclusion For pure vegetarians, Annapurna Cuisine is a must-visit. The dishes are tasty, and the overall dining experience is delightful. If we had another day in LA, we would definitely visit again to try more items from their extensive menu. Vegetarian people should give it a shot for sure. You will love it!
High quality clean vegetaría Indian food. Some of the best chai and chole bhatura in SoCal, hands down They usually run out of chai everyday 1-2 hours before they close. So get it quick lol The bhindi is ok but literally everything else is OUTSTANDING. Chole bhatura are my go to, and it ALWAYS hits the spot Paneer and masala dosas are solid, can’t go wrong Rasmalai usually great Service is good but because they’re always so slammed, opportunity for improvement One of the best vegetarian South Indian restaurants in LA!
A decent option indian vegetarian option around the Venice beach, CA. Sambar and Chutneys were not tasting good but Vada, Masala Dosa and Chole Batura were good.Food: 3/5
This is my favorite restaurant in Culver, definitely my favorite Indian food in LA! Been coming here for over two years and everything I’ve had is amazing! Best Saag I’ve ever had! The Dosa is huge and exciting. Recently started getting the Uthappams and they are my new favorite. Savory, crispy and the toppings really shine through. The Korma and Bahara Baignan will blow you away. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Their garlic naan is a must, so buttery! Do try to dine in too- there’s nothing like this food when it’s straight out of the kitchen. The staff rocks as well.
