Went tonight for the AYCE crabs and fixings and it was really awesome! For $40 i had all the seafood and soda i could handle. They had crabs, crawfish, fresh jumbo shrimp, mussels, corn, sausage, potatoes, boiled peanuts, eggs, and more... and everything was seasoned perfectly. I was honestly surprised. Everyone was so nice and it wasn't too crowded at all. They let you go up as many times as you'd like with no side eyes lol. I appreciated that they served you so there was no risk of other nasty hands touching things Enjoyed just sitting there, listening to music and eating with a friend. Will definitely be back.
We picked this place because the overall rating; HOWEVER, I wish I could turn back time! 1. The greens were full of stems. 2. I love Mac and cheese but this is NOT southern style nothing! It tastes like the wrong cheese was used and had raw egg after taste! 3. I wouldn’t recommend this place to nobody. I was sooo disappointed. Somebody lying on these reviews or there taste buds are messed up‍. 4. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is for look of the plate.
I ordered the oxtail and rice. It was seasoned well and cooked just right. Customer service was good and the wait time was reasonable.
Great customer service. Felt like I was at a family member’s house. The food was not good. I spit the greens out. The Mac n cheese was watered down. The smothered pork chops were good, I guess. The yams were ok. Most likely won’t eat here again.
They really expect for somebody to eat that. Macaroni and cheese is a big water down no taste the field peas is dry. Salty and everything else. I don’t even wanna get started in on them dried out pork chops I don’t know how to stay in business for this long. Then when you try to call they don’t answer the phone they send you to the voicemail. voicemail is full yeah. the worst
Ok so Annie Ru's.... I would have never known this place was here. In fact they are one of the most affordable soul food kitchens in Jacksonville. Located on the northwest side of Jacksonville they offer full meals as low as $5 a plate! Where else can you get such a great deal and the quality is awesome as well... the down spots if any are they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays... everything you can think of from smothered turkey to ox tails. Greens, yams and mac and cheese of course...guaranteed to fill you up from 11am to 5pm Wednesday thru Sunday you can't lose with Annie Ru's....
I had such a pleasant experience today! The young man who initially took the orders was so full of energy and exemplified extraordinary customer service! He sang while we went through the line too. Additionally, the food was GREAT! We ordered the chitterlings, oxtail, meat loaf, fried chicken and baked chicken big family and everything was delicious! This was my first time there and I'll definitely be going again!
The food was delicious feel like home with the staff being very friendly. The only reason why it didn't get five Stars is because I've been here for over 3 decades and I'm just now hearing about it through Google search. Seriously my friends could have told me about this authentic soulfood jewel.
I have had nothing but great experiences at this restaurant. Often I have last minute, large catering orders and Ms. Daniels and her team always delivers. Great food, customer service, and overall business practices by a local, Black owned business. You forever have my support!
Amazing home cooked food. Taste just like it was cooked in my family's kitchen. The fried fish was some of the best I've had in Duval. Mac n Cheese was great and greenbeans were flavorful. Peach cobbler delicious in so many ways. And the price was very affordable. Definitely eat there if you're on that side of town and if you're not it's worth the drive!
