I just recently started my fish hobby back up after not having fish for about 20 years. This place is really great . the staff is incredibly helpful and the selection is vast . I send extra props to Jessie he is so knowledgeable and doesn't try to sell my anything I don't need . I have bought 3 really nice discus fish and some other fish as well and they are all happy and healthy . the owner gets new fish in every Monday that he hand picks himself and will not take any fish that don't seem 100% healthy. I go to Aquatropics at least once a week and they are always happy to help me even with equipment I didn't buy from them. I really can't say enough about this place. if fish are your hobby this IS the place to go .

The employee helping us seemed very knowledgeable and friendly but most of the tanks didn't look clean and a lot of the fish seemed to be struggling to breath. Also there was duck weed in most of the planted tanks, which I don't want therefore didn't purchase any plants from them. I did buy some awesome dragon stone though, they had a very nice rock selection.

Let me first start by talking about the positives of this place. The overwhelming positive of this place is the staff. They are extremely helpful and they are extremely knowledgeable. Also, any type of equipment that you need they will help you get. If I were doing a review only on staff, it would be five stars. Now, the negatives. I would be cautious on buying fish from this place. A lot of their fish seem unhealthy, & I think that they have too many fish for the number of staff in order for them to properly take care of them. Also, these guys have amazing aquarium plants, however make sure you treat for snails before adding them to your tank I did get in infestation of snails after purchasing plants. Overall I would definitely recommend, however make sure you do your research before purchasing fish and plants.

I've bought fish from here three times, with a year in between each. Within a week of buying from them all my other fish in the aquarium dies. This last time I went in and spoke with the store manager. He tried to make it seem like I killed them. Even after I told him I've had aquariums for over 30 years and this was the first time I've had this problem...only after I buy from here. The first year it happened from him, those fish had been in my aquarium over 10 years. I told the manager all I want was a replacement. He denied me. Over $100 worth of sharks. Because he do not stand behind his product, I will no long purchase from here, nor recommend. I went to pets mart and bought the same fish a week later. It's been six months now and they are still living.
