I have never felt like I didn't belong at a school more than here dealing with Ms. Tricia Johnson. My step daughters first day of school, all of the other families were referred to as the ___ family... my step daughter was referred to by her first name because I was there with her as her step mother and she had absolutely no respect for me. Note that I also generally deal with all of her paperwork process, which was not accepted by her even with a marriage certificate - which has never been a problem before coming to Florida. With my husbands schedule, he cannot be the one to take her and deal with the schools paperwork process. It's me, her step mother, who loves her step children just as her own.. I do not understand why she was so condescending towards me and made me feel as though I did not belong. It's pretty bad when even my step daughter notices that she was addressed by name and asked me why we weren't referred to as a family. Then to top it all off, her tone when she introduced me to her teacher as step mother was unappreciated and unacceptable. If my step daughter can catch on to your complete disrespect towards me, that's saying something. Thank you for making this process so uncomfortable for me. I do not wish to deal with Ms. Tricia in the future due to her complete lack of care and compassion towards blended families.

I was reading the comment that was made about stepchild that teacher does not know that all people pay taxes and we all have the right for respect her problem is she gets that little position I worry more about her teaching abilities if she shows lack of respect it might be lack of Education on her behalf

Great school, great teachers, especially Miss Runte's 1st grade teacher. She really seems dedicated to the children. Ms Runte makes 1st grade learning fun.
